The location is very close to Bayeux (5km)and also close to Arromanches and the beaches. Nevertheless the estate lies by its own, away from any traffic and noise, all by itself in a very peaceful and scenic area surrounded by fields, meadows and the typical hedgerows of Normandy. The buildings have been fully restored and used to be a huge farm with a cheese production. Some works and finetuning is still ongoing, the new owners opened just a month ago.(05/2023) The breakfast was very good and rich with local food. The owners are very helpful and friendly.

Its less a hotel than a couples retreat, in the best way possible. Huge rooms with great facilities, white tablecloth restaurant downstairs. Massive grounds to wander around. In the evenings we availed ourselves of the sauna facilities followed by a spa (onsite shower first though). Its all outside surrounded by nature and quite private. Its not just quiet, its peaceful. The staff are engaging, friendly, spoke great English (making up for our poor French). Remarkbly good value. We felt very special , what a great way to finish up our 3 weeks in France.

We had the room in the attic, overlooking the garden. Spacious room, thick soft carpet, but there is no door separating the room from the bathroom. The space just flows into the amazing bathroom with a rainfall shower and a bathtub. Breakfast was decent, lots of local bakery products. You can park your car in the courtyard for free. Check out was at 11 - quite early. The hotel is just amazing, with a beautiful garden and a very good service. The town is small but quaint, and be advised to book a restaurant table in advance.

Hotel d’Argouges is the reason to travel to France. Hands down the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Cleanliness was impeccable, the rooms were spacious and the beds, pillows and duves didn’t dissapoint either.

    We came to Barbeville in purpose to experience a true chateau. de Monts did NOT disappoint! Everything was so green and serene, it was 7 minutes to city-center Bayeau--exactly what we wanted after Paris and the Loire! Would return in a heartbeat!

    Barbeville is a few minutes drive from Bayeux.

    Barbeville is a few minutes drive from Bayeux. It is a residential area in the country-side. We were picked up for tours from our Chateaux, just as if we were in a traditional hotel. This was our home base from which we toured around Normandy over 3 days.
