The location is great, just on the outskirts of Paris but close enough to walk to some attractions. The natural history museum and gardens and zoo are a 20-25 walk from the hotel. Opposite the museum is the Grand Mosque of Paris built in Moorish style with beautiful gardens that are free to the public. A 40 minute walk then takes you over the river to Notre Dame and from there you can walk at leisure to the Louvre, and on to Champs Elysée and finally to the Eiffel tower. All in all is around a 10 mile walk but worth it. The hotel is fabulous. It appears to be a conventional hotel mixed in with student living although the student wings are completely separate. The rooms we had were spacious, clean with lovely decor. The bathroom was well equiped. There is a games/chill out room on the ground floor which we didn't make use of but would be ideal for teens. Breakfast is self service and consists of fresh crossoints, pan du chocolate, breads, yogurt, tea , coffee, orange juice. It was plenty. The added bonus is the car parking on site for £10 per night. All in all, really impressed with the place and would Definitely return again when visiting Paris.

Lovely hotel, in a nice, safe area with good transport connections. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent facilities - the room had a kitchenette and there is a bar downstairs. A great price to be so close to the centre of Paris. Felt like a home away from home.

    No time to explore Gentilly itself unfortunately as my daughter's first time to Paris so we spent our time visiting the main tourist attractions. Would like to spend time in the different arrondissement and get a feel for their individual vibes and characteristics.

    Great neighborhood just outside of Paris center!

    Great neighborhood just outside of Paris center! You have a big park at RER train station (Cita Universitaire) just before Gentilly station stop. There is plenty of public transportation options, good choices for eating and it felt very safe, even at nights.

    It is a bit of a distance to the center of Paris if you don't mind taking the subway(lot of stairs ,lot of walking and sometimes very crowded) If it's all you can afford it doable. Local stores and cafe were friendly and nice to do business with.

    The place and the host are awful.

    The place and the host are awful. Please do not waste your money on them. I'm sure you can get better apartments than this. The light went out in our apartment for 12 hours, and the room was freezing. I kept calling the host, and they ignored us until the morning, even after seeing all the messages. They promised to give us a refund, which they never did. The apartment also had a very sus door that led downstairs to the cellar, which was extremely creepy, especially with no electricity.

    The location is not right in the middle of Paris, but it is...

    The location is not right in the middle of Paris, but it is connected well by RER which take about 20 minutes to reach Notre Dame. Another 15 mins from there and we can reach Eiffel. So, not bad a location. And RER is better than the crowded metro, so, I think Gentilly is the next better location to central Paris.
