Everything, as are visits before we were looked after from the minute we arrived till the moment we left. Chako is an absolute treasure and her enthusiasm for looking after her guest's is fabulous. We loved everything about La Closerie St-Jacques! Our suite was decorated beautifully - a wonderfully tasteful mix of old and new, with a large and cosy bed, a separate dressing area, and a modern shower room. Jean-Luc and Jérôme are superb hosts - warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful (even going so far as to book restaurants in advance and a taxi for a wedding we were attending). The breakfasts were a real treat - freshly served and different each morning (including fruit, homemade yoghurts and tarts, honey, jam, crepes…). Every last detail had been thought about, and it was clear that a lot of care and attention has been put into the decoration and service. An exceptional stay all round.

What a gorgeous little place this is, right in the historic part of town. Rustic traditional rooms, with an enchanting garden full of grapevines, beans, passion flowers and figs. I highly recommend staying to take breakfast here in the morning. The pigeon tower itself, at the end of the garden, is actually part of the old city walls, which makes for a very atmospheric exit from the accommodation when walking into town. Sylvie was the perfect host: welcoming, attentive and accommodating. We were sad that we could only stay one night!

Beautiful old city.

Beautiful old city. Lots of lovely buildings and the City Royale in particular is stunning. Go on market day (Wed and Sat) when the place is buzzing. Lots of good cafes and restaurants (Ma Pet't Restau is our favourite)

Loches is full of history and we learned a lot about Valois...

Loches is full of history and we learned a lot about Valois kings and queens, not to mention medieval brigands and characters. The Saturday market was great fun - and much larger than we expected. Many great places to visit in the vicinity. Definitely bringing walking boots next time!

We only had a morning to look at the royal castle/town...

We only had a morning to look at the royal castle/town inside its walls. You really need a day if, like us, you are interested in historic buildings, and there was a lot elsewhere to see in the town which we know we missed. We shall have to return. No problem (with advice from the proprietors of where we stayed) finding somewhere to eat in the town on a Monday evening.

Loches is the perfect little town with lots of history, cute...

Loches is the perfect little town with lots of history, cute shops and plenty of places to eat. It has a beautiful walk along the river and plenty of green spaces as well as the historic buildings and cobbled streets in the old town. Everything is within walking distance.

Loches is a very quite town/village and there is not much...

Loches is a very quite town/village and there is not much happening there especially in the evenings. There are only a handful of restaurants, one of which is very recommendable P'tit Restau. We hope that on our next visit there will be less rain.

A beautiful historic house in the Old city. Well placed for walks to restaurants and other attractions. A warm welcome from the host and good communication prior to and during the stay. The room and bathroom were large and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom well equipped. Tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated. Breakfast was good with the usual range of continental fare. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will definitely return both to Loches and the accommodation.

La Cloiserie is situated in the centre of Loches in close proximity to all the historic buildings. It is an old building beautifully restored with the added benefits of the guest rooms overlooking an inner courtyard and therefore protected from any street noise; and it has a garden which is available to guests. Our host was solicitous (there are no "staff") and anxious to ensure that we enjoyed all the benefits of a stay in Loches.

Nice clean and modern hotel with free parking nearby, breakfast buffet is (very) good. Our room had the biggest flatscreen TV we have yet seen in a hotel room ;) (Unfortunately the cable signal and the wifi-signal were too weak to watch anything or go online but we did not make a complaint about it since we don't stay in hotels to watch TV or surf the internet constantly).

The building is spectacular and has been beautifully converted into a stunning hotel. Staff are very helpful and our privilege room with balcony was excellent. Great breakfast eaten inside or on the terrace watching the world go by.
