We stopped at Hotel Aster for one night on our trip between Calais and Alsace. Our room was attractive, functional and clean. The bed was comfortable and the location in the town of Briey was quiet, so we had a good night’s sleep. Breakfast included a variety of both cold and hot items. The highlight of our stay was dinner, which was excellent, and there was entertainment that night in the restaurant in the form of a “crooner” singing American and European songs from the 1950s and 1960s. The lady on the reception desk spoke excellent English and was very helpful. We would certainly stay at Hotel Aster again!

Located close to the centre of Briey, Hôtel la Régie is set in a landscaped park with a covered terrace. You can dine in the restaurant and enjoy a drink at the bar in this contemporary hotel.

Absolutely fantastic. Great host. Catherine made us feel like at home. We slept so good! Enjoyed delicious breakfast. It was our quick stop on the way to Bretagne but we felt lucky to have found it. A bonus: lovely outdoor area made our evening and morning here more pleasant. Merci beaucoup, Catherine!

A gem of a guest house. The setting was fantastic, the house has clearly had years of love and affection poured on it. The furnishings were incredible. Our hostess was so welcoming. The food was superb.

Spacious accommodation in the centre of a quiet village. Plenty of space for dining and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, the bathroom has a bath tub and good shower. There's space outside in a garden/terrace, although the weather wasn't good enough for us to use it this time. We enjoyed our stay.

Situated in Woël, in a historic building, 45 km from Metz Train Station, Le PALAZZO YES is a recently renovated bed and breakfast with a garden and terrace.

This amazing italianate palazzo is a labour of love for the owners (YeS = Yva et Sam), who truly welcomed me in as if I was a friend, not just a customer. They even put on music I like over breakfast! The food was delicious and met my dietary needs perfectly. The decor is unique, gorgeous (gold leaf everywhere) and a touch sexy. The garden is lovely and has shady spots for chatting or meditating. The location is convenient for exploring Verdun and the battlefields, without being touristy. It's also an area I have previously found convenient to stay in, as a Brit travelling in France, because it's a reasonable day's drive from Amsterdam or Rotterdam, and an easy day from Calais.
