Local pizza was superb (recommended by hosts)
Only 3 hours from Calais made it a perfect overnight rest stop for family on return to UK.

Tucked away in a tiny quiet village.
Tucked away in a tiny quiet village. Chateau Vitry-la-Ville is set in beautiful grounds you are free to walk around. Some amazing largely unused rooms on the ground floor. It was like walking around a National Trust stately home.

The whole place was filled with a lovely atmosphere.
The whole place was filled with a lovely atmosphere. The chateau is very beautiful and so are the gardens which allowed us to completely disconnect and enjoy poetic weekend. The hosts are very nice, kind and made us and our dog feel very welcome. Our dinner was composed of many courses which were accompanied by the music of Vivaldi and delicious local champagne which made us feel like a royalty. Both dinner and breakfast were simply delicious! We finished our stay by a lovely walk around the property where we enjoyed the formal gardens and got absorb by the woodlands with all kinds of wilderness.
