Aboyne is a lovely place for a short break.
Aboyne is a lovely place for a short break. Good facilities and lovely surroundings. Places to eat out at night are limited but what is on offer is good. At present the Aboyne bridge to the South Deeside road is closed to vehicles and will be so for the next few years. We didn't stop in the town of Aboyne itself, but if (or rather, when!) we go back, we will do so, as it looked very pleasant as we drove through. The scenery in the area is beautiful, and we enjoyed our drives around the area. There are plenty of placed of interest to visit and a super-abundance of castles. Upon our arrival we were welcomed by Joyce, the incredible host of this amazing place, with hot tea and a delicious cake.
