The village is as beautiful as it is ancient, though you can't tell this from the road. Take time to wander the many paths that cross the village and breathe in the heady scents of all the very many varieties of flowers that bloom in every garden. Visit the Church and the Cleve, an ancient site of 30 spring heads where sheep were washed in bygone days. Even the walls have thatched tops. And there are many paths out of the village into the most gorgeous countryside filled with birdsong, wildflowers and clouds of butterfiles, with incredible views in every direction.

I wanted to be near my Didcot family 10 minutes away and this was perfect. I mostly ate with my family or cooked for myself in the unit. It would be useful to have a single or double burner stove available, not just the microwave, but this is minor tweaking of an already nice facility. A car is recommended although there is a bus stop just over the road.

Ideal location for the Ridgeway, attending the Bunkfest in Wallingford, and visiting friends in Abingdon and Blewbury itself. Matt our host was extremely helpful dealing with us both before and during our stay.

I booked the hotel for a colleague traveling for work and she found the hotel and room very charming. There was a warm welcome, helpful, hoists, open fire, and country feel. Highly recommended.
