Pretty hamlet with 2 excellent pubs serving great food. Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District. Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. Bowland bridge a quiet little hamlet that is a short drive...
Bowland bridge a quiet little hamlet that is a short drive approx 6 miles into Windermere. It was within easy reach of several pubs where you could eat. Very good location for getting to all the places that you would like to sightsee. There was walks there but unfortunately I didn’t have the time to explore the area. We ate at the brown horse which took about 8 mins to drive to. A great friendly pub with good food. The Hare and hounds in Bowland Bridge was my favourite pub. The pub/hotel was full of charm, with decent beers ,wine and nice food. all staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented as was Dinner, with a nice menu on offer.
