The breakfast and choice was absolutely amazing. The best we have had at a hotel. It was all fresh and constantly topped up. We had not planned to eat evening meals in the hotel, but the food was so good we ate there every night. The room too was fantastic, with plenty of space. Marc the concierge was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great walks suitable for us and the buses to get to them. The receptionists were also very welcoming showing us around the hotel and our room on arrival. The location of the hotel is good too, just a few minutes walk from the center and therefore not too noisy. A few days after we left I realised that I had left an expensive item of clothing behind. The hotel kindly arranged to post this home for me. We usually holiday in the Med but with the high temperatures we now get there during summer, decided to try the UK this year. We had such an enjoyable time will definitely be back next summer.

The Linthwaite House Hotel experience is a must have at least once in a life time. The hotel’s location is superb, the cleanliness level is beyond words, the staff are SUPER HELPFUL and friendly. Jasmine was the cherry on top, the solution oriented and who would never fail to put a smile on your face. Marco saved us by sending hotel’s car to pick us when we got trapped in heavy rain in windermere and were not finding any taxi. Linthwaite, I really hope I can visit again and meet same staff and enjoy paradise on earth.

The staff was very nice and helpful! - we accidently booked two different rooms for two individual nights, and they solved it easily and organized everything we needed (including a crib). The breakfast was good and the view from the tables was beautiful. There is free parking.

Lindeth Fell is a magnificent property on the hills overlooking lake Windermere. The old country style exudes cosiness from the moment of arrival and the discovery of the rooms, the lounge and the library with their enjoyable little details makes the experience even better. What makes Lindeth Fell truly memorable however is the thoroughy professional and friendly staff. Anything you want is but a question away and quite often the staff anticipate the question before you think of it. We particularly enjoyed the company of Ben, all-round good chap, always ready with advice or a quick "nudge-nudge, wink-wink" to add to the experience. In addition to having breakfast, we also stayed for dinner, which was of a quality truly exceeding expectation: perfectly proportioned, perfectly cooked with a nice selection of affordable wines to go with them. All in all, a most excellent experience!

A place we have been to lots of times when we were children and with my own children, so it was lovely to go just with adults. Plenty to see and do. Lovely places to eat and have a drink or a coffee. Loved the Christmas shop. Bought some Lakeland vodka and rum also.

The scenery in this area is fantastic.

The scenery in this area is fantastic. If you are a keen photographer you will be spoilt for choices. Not just at Windermere, but the surrounding towns, lakes, and walks. These include Windermere, Kendal / Derwent Water and Rydal, etc. Bowness has a good selection of places to eat and drink during the day and evening. The town also has a good selection of shops which include well known names and brands.

We visited the lake and went on the boat trip.

We visited the lake and went on the boat trip. It is the 3 rd time I have been here but the last visit was 10 years ago, so much has changed and there is now not as much to see on that same boat trip. Such a shame. We ate in a local cafe or rather my husband did. He loved the cafe just off the boat that sold home made massive millionaires shortbread, the highlight of his day hahah this cafe was at the opposite end of the lake from the main side of the lake.

Bowness is a pretty little village/town on the edge of lake Windermere. The people are kind and happy. There is so much to see and do i go twice a year! It doesn't matter what the weather you can find something/somewhere to entertain yourself. I recommend for families, and couples young or old, but it is hilly so take walking shoes!!

Bowness is the busiest tourist place in the lakes.

Bowness is the busiest tourist place in the lakes. Whilst some people might not like that, it does have a multitude of places to eat, drink, wander and enjoy the vista. Please try Porta, I have been visiting the restaurant for over 30 years, it is fabulous and for me is a must visit venue. I know it’s touristy, but that’s for a reason, it is a really nice place to be.
