Dishonest explanation of closure of facilities before booking and on arrival: We had booked for spa. The management knew their spa facilities would be closed at the time of booking but only informed us by e-mail two hours before arriving at the hotel and spa. In a well rehearsed routine of apology - we were offered and received a room upgrade. We had come from abroad for a break and there were few last minute options available. The spa/swimming pool/restaurant/gym were all closed allegedly for maintenance, but clearly this should have been scheduled well before our booking was accepted. It is a nice hotel, I really liked it (as I mentioned in my public review). They’ve upgraded my room, it was very spacious, warm and cosy. Cleanliness could be much better, also bad that they don’t check if things are out of order. Would like to come back and try spa (looked very tempting!).
