I'm travelling by bicycle from Germany, touring all British and Irish isles. So far, 759.6 Km travelled. I arrived with my Brompton and trailer here thanks to a lovely fellow, saving me from a downpour. The owner of the hotel was so kind to store my Brompton and trailer securely for me. This is a very serene place. Lovely interior, very kind staff, and cosy rooms. The food selections seem basic on the start, but they mostly have a very flavoursome twist. As a former chef myself, I wish more premises would dare to take on food classics in the same way. Overall, it was a great experience for me, and if I would not be on a cycle tour, I'd love to extend to stay for a few days! Thank you very much for a great stay and a trip uphill saving me from a great struggle

We stayed just outside Danby.

We stayed just outside Danby. We visited Danby village which was picture perfect. Surrounded by beautiful countyside quiet, relaxing and good for walking and bike rides. Very friendly people willing to help and give information about the area. The local food is excellent and full of variety.

I found this little pub gem on Booking.com as I needed a place to stay the night between Scarborough and Layburn in North Yorkshire. Ideally situated on the route between the two towns. Price was fab as was the whole experience. Bed and room were very comfy, very clean with a great pub varied menu. Staff really helpful and friendly. Will certainly visit again

Views were stunning, hosts were lovely and went above and beyond even gave my mother a lift up to danby castle for the night do of the wedding I was at. Pod itself was clean, and had everything you could need. Had tea and coffee provided as well as fresh milk in the fridge. Even the neighbours (Goats) were lovely. It's perfectly situated if you are going to the castle for a wedding, we were able to walk back to the pod in 10mins. Also good location if you are planning country walks or hikes.

The room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom modern. The hotel was set in a scenic location and there was ample parking. It was great to read about the history of the inn in various ways throughout the stay and these were nice touches. Some members of staff were excellent.

A lovely and welcoming home, the bedroom was perfect. Beautiful location in Danby, within walking distance of good pubs and the Danby Lodge National Park Centre. Charlotte was a lovely host and made some great recommendations.
