What a superb stay: it really exceeded our expectations! The rooms were not only comfortable and cozy but also very beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and the shower worked well. Even though we didn´t see the host, a letter had been left for us and it made us feel truly welcome. In addition, we would like to mention that Dunkeld is a beautiful place to explore by walking around, dining in restaurants, and visiting beautiful art galleries. Furthermore, a sublime bookstore with a remarkably well-chosen collection of books was literally next door – the place is called The Birnam Reader Bookshop and should be on every booklover's pocketlist.

Everything about the Atholl Arms was wonderful.The Staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we entered the hotel.The accomodation was fresh,tasteful ,modern and comfortable. The food was excellent. My wife is coeliac and she was well catered for.

The pods are located on a nice hill offering a great view to the nearby hills. For a couple, they are very roomy compared to a tent, very comfortable to stand up almost at any point, even with two futon beds lied down, there is still a lot of space to put your belongings. The "terrace" in front of them with the roof extending over it also offeres some protection for items left outside. They are well equipped for what they are (futon beds are comfortable; the pods have electricity - 2 outlets; one of which is used for the electric heater in colder weather; large firepit with a huge grill on top; large table with benches outside next to the firepit - could easily sit down 6 people; nice and clean towels, pillows and sleeping bags - with additional linen - offered for an extra 5 gbp / person). The car could be parked just a couple of meters away from the pod. The shared facilities (toilets and showers, kitchenette) were nice and clean. The host was easy to contact before and very polite at the time of our arrival. For us it was worth paying extra for charcoal and firewood, we found it a generous amount and we found good use for it.

From the warm welcome to the peaceful surroundings, everything about our stay was exceptional. The location is ideal – just a short walk from the charming town of Dunkeld, yet tucked away enough to offer a truly relaxing retreat. The house itself is beautifully maintained, blending traditional charm with modern comforts. Our room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with a super comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The attention to detail was evident in everything, from the high-quality linens to the little touches that made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a highlight! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast with a great selection to choose from. Whether you prefer a hearty Scottish breakfast or something lighter, everything was prepared to perfection. A special mention must go to the gentleman working there—he was absolutely wonderful! So kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave great recommendations for places to visit, and truly made us feel at home. His hospitality was outstanding and made our experience even more memorable. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with fantastic hospitality, Tayburn House is an absolute must. We loved everything! Beautiful cottage in stunning landscape and lovely small garden. Color scheme and decorating above expectations, done with knowhow and love. Absolutely loved it! Very modern clean kitchen, well equipped. Bathroom spacious with a lot of natural.light. Great woodburner , David provided us with extra wood. We had a bit of a wobbly Wifi connection but that will be sorted with fibre in the near future. Owners live on the property but you have complete privacy. Tip: check second door in the cottage for outside deckchairs.

Property was fabulous. Lovely rooms and staff. Breakfast was the best with lots of options. Dinner needs changing up with specials for dinner and dessert. Was same menu every day. Room was a bit stuffy. Need portable fans. We had a window that opened but did not really help. Swimming pool and spa was lovely. Staff was amazing. Shout out to Annia who found a tick on my leg during a massage. No idea wher it came from as i stayed on the path.

It is an extremelly picturesque and in parts quaint town!

It is an extremelly picturesque and in parts quaint town! It does have its own railway station, and a very good bus service! The Hermitage is a MUST SEE! In Burnam, (Mentioned in Macbeth) the walks are superb through the Glen, and the Beatrix Potter gardens are a must see also.

Very charming place.

Very charming place. Cathederal set in lovely grounds and still being used during the big renovations. Several lovely cafe's/pubs. Parking an issue when it is busy which is generally any nice day

Beautiful location. Verdant with lovely river views. The town also has some interesting shops, including Jeffrey’s, the art gallery and the vintage shop. A small gem of a town. Also very handy for Perth, Aberfeldy, etc.

Lovely little town.

Lovely little town. Walked around the hermitage which is very well maintained and makes a nice walk. Villagers were all very friendly in Dunkeld, especially Arran Bakery. Nice wee near garden in Taybank hotel too. Beautiful walk along the bank.

Dunkeld and Birnam are very picturesque little towns.

Dunkeld and Birnam are very picturesque little towns. There are beautiful walks along the riverbank. The cathedral and grounds are worth a visit. If exploring the surrounding areas Kinclaven woods has the most spectacular display of bluebells at this time of year. Great music scene to be appreciated. Limited eateries open on a Monday evening. Good quality but expensive fare in those that are open. Granny Blacks tearoom worth a visit during daytime.

The staff were happy and helpful. The open fire in the lobby was great as sat there for a drink after a lovely dinner. Breakfast was also really tasty. The hotel is placed on a very picturesque part of the village - a very beautiful part of Scotland.

Quiet room. Friendly staff. I accidentally left my hot water bottle in my bed at the hotel (room 206) - I am hoping the hotel staff will post it to me (I will of course refund the postage.)

Didn’t have breakfast there, as the charming town of Dunkeld a short walk, with so much choice. Charming old hotel, set in beautiful surrounds, very pretty area.
