Eyam is a pretty village in the Peak District.

Eyam is a pretty village in the Peak District. The church and museum provide a good history of the village and their response to the plague and there are several walks to do round the village to explore some of the historic sites. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and there are lots of great cafes to choose from for coffee and cake etc. It is also well placed for walking on the gritstone edges of the Peak District

Beautiful countryside, Eyam is full of history being The Plague Village in the 1600’s. Lovely Derbyshire stone cottages. Walkers paradise! The Miners Arms on Water St is a great pub for food and drink. Two café/tea rooms with lovely cakes etc. There is a Youth Hostel as well.

Eyam has a long and well documented history which it displays throughout the village, telling the story of the village self-isolating during the plague in the 17th century. It's a good tale even if some of it is now considered to be embellished for the tourists but worth visiting and exploring nonetheless. If you stay in the village you'll find it much less busy in the evening when the day trippers have departed. It's largely picturesque and mostly unspoilt, has a decent pub, the Miners Arms, good local walks, and a bus service to Bakewell and Sheffield. There's a useful small general store and a fruit and veg shop that has intermittent opening times so I don't know what it's like. Eyam is a good base for exploring the Peak District.

A great place to visit for an important part of history (The Plague) and self -sacrifice made by those lovely folk in the town. That ambience and surrounds are also what makes visiting the Peak District being so enjoyable!

The house is very beautiful, it does not lack detail. Ricky has waited for us to give us a very warm welcome. He bothered a lot to explain how the house works. He has indicated what could be seen in the area. On cold nights we spend next to the fireplace. The beds are extremely comfortable. I recommend this house if you want to know the Peak District area. The Eyam village is beautiful. It has a cafeteria and a pub where you can have breakfast and eat wonderfully. The whole area is very bucolic

Great location just a short stroll from the heart of the wonderful village of Eyam. Our hosts were very helpful too when we arrived by providing us with the door code. Really nice facilities as well such as two bathrooms (one with a bath), very comfy beds, a very comfy and spacious living area and fairly well equipped kitchen.

It was a great place to stay with a little wall into the village of Eyam. The couple running were friendly and offered to help find meals in the evening. The room had a super comfortable bed and was very clean. Good value for money. Would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

This is a great little pub in Eyam. We only stayed one night but it was a pleasant stay. We slept well in the comfortable double bed. The shower was strong and hot. The room was a good size. The food was good. Parking was available on site. We would stay there again.
