small well preserved village 20 minutes on the bus from Ambleside and Consiton, but there are lots of places to eat and spend your money. It is restricted in the centre to delivery vehicles only so it is pleasingly quiet. You can even charge your EV in one of the car parks. There are many walks directly from the village.

Hawkshead is a lovely village, with enough to do without being busy or over-commercial.All the places we visited were friendly, good value and authentic. Walks around the village are lovely, covering a range of abilities. Hawkshead also has historical importance, with its links to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.

The B&B was delightful: very comfortable accommodation and so quiet and peaceful. Steve and Sharon were both friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast choices were varied, beautifully cooked and presented. The location on the edge of Hawkshead was very convenient for strolling around the shops and had a good variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

We initially booked the pod but because there was a school trip of primary students using all the other pods, they kindly moved us to the larger tents to make our experience more enjoyable and not surrounded by overly excited kids. And honestly, from the location, the view, and the facilities, it's enough to say this made our stay in Lake District very memorable.

The convenience (walking distance) to the village and to all Lake District Attractions. Hawkshead is a lovely village, beautifully looked after, and a well kept secret as opposed to other Lake District villages or towns. People incredibly friendly and Mark and Emma wonderful hosts.

Highly recommend this B&B. Our room was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. The roll top bath was a definite highlight after a long Lake District walk! Great location with lovely pubs, shops and walks on the doorstep. Also dog friendly!
