Great location. for a BnB it’s splendid and cozy, the staff and service was just perfect. Rahul, Ronald and Kamila were very generous and helpful. A special mention for Ian who served us for breakfast. He’s extremely warm, very interactive and has a wonderful & subtle sense of humour 😃 He does make a genuine effort to connect. We had 9-yr old amongst and she thought Ian was fantastic too. Two Thumbs Up! 👍🏼

FAQs about hotels in Inverness

Gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness

A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Take a walk around the Old Town, visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, and make a stopover in the charming Victorian Market. The Old High St Stephen's Church is the oldest building in town, and has been a religious site since pre-Christian times.

The Inverness Castle overlooks the river and is nowadays the seat of the Sheriff Court. A hotel in Inverness city centre is ideal to enjoy the different cultural and recreational activities in town.

Watch the Atlantic salmon jumping out the river near the Ness Islands, and try to catch a glimpse of the famous monster of Loch Ness. The Cairngorms National Park is 40 km away, and Chanonry Point is the best spot to watch dolphins, just 24 km away.

Inverness hotels include a large offer of small, cosy guest houses, B&B’s, and rural cottages, allowing a closer contact with the nature. Don’t miss the Inverness accommodation deals on Booking.com!

Easy to get to, a great range of shops, restaurants/ tale-aways, we love Eden Court theatre and we heard some Gaelic, which is important to us, as a language which needs to thrive. Easy to get the bus or taxi too.

We visited the Battlefield at Colluden and took the Jacobite tour of Loch Ness. Both a must if your in Inverness. Pubs and eating out provide lots of choice. I would however recommend the Mustard Seed restaurant. Most enjoyable but you need to pre-book.

Inverness is the base station for onward trips to highlands.

Inverness is the base station for onward trips to highlands. We booked multiple tours like Loch Ness Tour (Timberbush), Isle of Skye Tour (Timberbush) and NC500 Tour (Rabbies) to explore the magnificent highlands area. And It was an awesome and wonderful and enjoyable experience. Isle of Skye 2 day tour being the best experience. We could spend more time on the NC500 tour however due to shortage of time could only do a day trip, which was also very enjoyable. We eat halal food only and there were multiple options available (Turkish/Pakistani/others). Embar Cafe (close to River Ness hotel where we stayed) also served halal food with delicious breakfast and coffee options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Super modern, very clean, beautiful modern bathroom, large walk in shower, french doors out to the garden. Breakfast was top notch. I travel all over Scotland with private clients touring every season, Inverness is a popular stop over and I have never seen this guest house available before. I definitely hit lucky on the last minute booking I made. Would definitely stay here again, if I am lucky enough for availability in the future.

Nice location if you want to travel to other places from here. We went to Kyle of Lochalsh by train which was the reason we went to Inverness. We were travelling to Scotland for work and only had a couple of days for holidays in Inverness. This Guesthouse was all we needed for a place to stay in the area and catch our various tours from. Mandy, the hostess, went over and above to help us with all our needs, exceeding all of our expectations.
