The proprietors Euan & Emma were excellent company and very attentive to guests' needs. The hotel had an excellent menu with accompanying wines, beers, spirits, if required. The hotel also had an extensive range of locally-produced spirits. The accommodation was excellent and well-equipped. The only down-side was the lack of TV reception - although being without TV was somewhat of a blessing!

This place is a little gem. If you want a spiritual retreat full of candles and incense in a quiet location, then this is for you. With no Wi-Fi, this is a place to come and escape. And not one touristy picture of a Highland cow to be seen - what a joy! The owner Fred, is a breath of fresh air. Loved the spacious rooms and very comfy king size bed. The property is just across the road from the footpath to Loch Mey with its bird hide. Great for birdwatchers.

Had a lovely stay at the Mey Hotel on the first night of our NC500 road trip. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and both evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Room was clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. Walk around the grounds was very pleasant and we enjoyed the Tunnocks tea cake and wafer 😊

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel which should be an indication that we like it. It is a charming place, ideally situated for visiting Orkney or just travelling the NC500, both of which we have done. The hosts ate extremely helpful and obliging and the food is delicious.

Ideally located to visit "The Orkneys" or John O Groats - Castle of Mey and / or as a rest stop on the NR500. Ample car parking space. The rooms were spotless - The breakfast was just amazing, plenty full and hot.

Hosts very welcoming, spent time explaining processes; wifi etc. Comfortable bed, great nights sleep. The best porridge we've had in a long time :). Close to Gardens of Mey.
