Everything! Very homely and warm, it felt like an enjoyable and authentic experience. Above all, the treatment is fantastic - all needs were covered no matter big or small. Fox Cottage was a perfect overnight stop for our return journey from the west coast of Scotland. It was a 5 minutes drive off the M74 with parking for our 2 cars. We loved the Fox theme that ran throughout the cottage and it was warm and cosy. We really appreciated the welcome pack of biscuits, oatcakes, eggs, milk and dog treats! We had a very good fish and chip supper from the Moffat Chippie. Thank you to the very helpful neighbour who came to our rescue when we managed to lock ourselves out on arrival! Would definitely return and recommend. . .

Such a lovely traditional Scottish town with great little local and varied businesses. A friendly town for dogs and people. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep with some great dog walking areas on the doorstep. We loved it so much we’d like to move there!

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and...

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and surrounding area. Plenty of eating places and wee shops to wander the high street. Walks, cycling, golf and fishing near. Playparks for children. Can get bus to Hamilton or Glasgow or head south. train station nearby goes to Edinburgh. Lots of accommodation options.

It's a pretty country town, once a spa, set in deeply rural Southern Uplands, with good hill-walking a few miles away. There are a variety of shops, mainly local, some touristy. It's a good base for exploring a relatively unfrequented part of Scotland.

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what...

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what we did see looked good, bars, shops restaurants etc. It was easy to walk into Moffat from the guest house and is within easy reach of main roads leading to other towns.

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of...

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of England to the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect location. Moffat has a good mix of shops and pubs, we ate at the bull which was very nice. The surrounding country side is dramtic and forms a great back drop.

Moffat is a lovely town.

Moffat is a lovely town. We broke our journey from Inverness with an overnight stay there. It is a short distance from the main A74, there is ample free parking and the town has lots of hotels and eateries. Perfect.

Very good breakfast in a lovely dining room. Although only b and b during the winter, excellent facilities for having take-away food. Very welcoming staff who were extremely helpful. Very dog friendly. The hotel is packed full of character and charm. My room was comfortable and I slept well. The wet room was great as it enabled me to give my dog a good clean after going for a walk along the river. Excellent location as Moffat is a lovely little historical town, very picturesque and near to the motorway.

The breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked in front of you and plenty of it. John is excellent host and we will certainly be back again when we travel to and from family in Scotland. This is one of those places you want to keep to your self and not share with anyone else. Moffat itself is a lovely little town and the parking is free!

Pleasant stopover on the way to Scotland. Unfortunately it was torrential rain so I couldn't explore Moffat. My single room was clean and comfortable. Nice to have milk in the fridge. I didn't stay for breakfast. The evening meals looked very affordable. Free parking in the street .

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.
