The staff were amazing. Fantastic service in the restaurant and the food was excellent. When we arrived we were upgraded to a family room because the room we had booked was over the bar and Scotland was playing rugby and they were concerned that it would be too noisy. Definitely will be back.

Fabulous breakfast. Excellent service. Lovely evening meal. Super close to Dunoon for shops and cafes. Plenty of trail running 🏃 straight from the door. Parkrun on a Saturday.

This pioneering young couple have taken on a massive job of returning this establishment to its former beauty. Room by massive room it’s being restored and it’s going to be amazing when they finish. We absolutely loved our stay here. Carpets, paint and the bathroom for room 9 are all almost new. The staff are all so friendly and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed dinner in the bar and breakfast in the dining room.

Helen and Nigel were lovely hosts. The room was large with a small fridge and even USB charging points on both bedside tables. The shower had good pressure hot water. Huge breakfast with particularly good local sausage.

    We absolutely loved our time in Sandbank, a delightful coastal village just a stone’s throw from Dunoon. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid-back—perfect for families and dog-walkers alike—with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde and an air of peaceful seclusion without feeling isolated. The local community is friendly and welcoming, and there's an abundance of beautiful walking routes, from gentle shoreline paths to woodland trails. We enjoyed relaxing by the water, spotting boats drifting by, and soaking in some gorgeous sunsets after busy days of exploring. With its quiet charm, natural beauty, and easy access to nearby shops and eateries in Dunoon, Sandbank makes a fabulous base for anyone seeking a restful escape in Scotland’s west coast hills.
