Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea...

Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea with a fabulous beach. We experienced a tired run down establishment with a ‘couldn’t be bothered’ staff attitude. Dismissive and inattentive, we would never go back.

Great food in terms of quantity and quality, friendly and helpful staff, and a spacious room with a lovely view of the sea and beach. We travelled to various parts of Cumbria each day of our stay to make the most of the time we had there.

Nice small town, don't expect many shops or cafes/restaurants. The Seaside was very beautiful, easy to walk, with beautiful scenery, golden sand and big rocks. Keep in mind it looks like it's always windy there.

Paul and Angela really made us feel welcome. They were very helpful with suggestions of where to go etc. We had used Seascales as a base so we could explore the nearby areas which our son could stay at when he moved in the summer. The locals were very friendly and knowledgeable and we were very thankful. Bed was very comfy, breakfast very good and we had an evening meal which was lovely. Will stay again should we need to stay in Seascales again.

Lovely and welcoming guest house/hotel in the perfect location. Really dog friendly so at no point did we feel a nuisance to other guests or staff. Nice evening meal menu and great breakfast.

Really clean, comfy bed and spacious room. Served our purpose for the coast to coast and offered lots of facilities by local firms, either delivered to the hotel or in local pubs.
