The rooms are decorated by a professional interior designer, amazing and still very cosy. The bathrooms are deluxe. And the decor around the whole property is wow. The bar/ restaurant was fab - great food and drinks. More like a big, cosy dinning room. And the people are wonderful.

The hotel is in a lovely area of Stirling in close walking distance of Stirling Castle, and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. The staff were incredibly lovely, friendly and generous with their time, making many recommendations of places to go and the best ways to get there. The guest lounge and dining room are lovely and comfortable, and the room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed and lovely toiletries provided (combination shower gel + shampoo & conditioner). The breakfast included was absolutely delicious - we had porridge with whisky, brown sugar and cream, and pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the coffee was lovely. Will be recommending highly!

Great value for money and convenient if you’re traveling by car and visiting Stirling. The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel’s own restaurant-pub was ideal - no need to drive into town to find food after a long day. The Wi-Fi worked well, and just across the road there’s a petrol station with a small grocery store and a Starbucks, which was very handy. Overall, this is an excellent choice for travelers with a car, and we were very satisfied with our stay.

This was a beautiful historic school that was renovated as a hotel. I loved the history of this place, and enjoyed our stay even more than some of the castles we stayed at. Food and drinks at their lounge were fantastic, and their buffet breakfast was also full of great choices. It was a little hard to drive to due to road construction going on at the time. Its location is close enough to walk (it's a bit of a hill) to Stirling Castle, and you'll be walking past the Old Town Jail and Holy Rude, which are all worth a visit if you have time.

The castle is a must-see and we appreciated the free guided tour where we learnt so much about the castle and Scottish history. The views are amazing. There are plaques on a lot of buildings to explain what they were back in the day. We met up with friends who live in Stirling and took us on a tour round the old town, pointing out all sorts of things. We saw some groups doing walking tours and would otherwise have booked one. We didn't get to the jail which looked good. We're saving that for our next visit.

Stirling itself has strong historical ties with Scottish...

Stirling itself has strong historical ties with Scottish history, battle of Stirling Bridge, the castle and Bannockburn, I didn't visit Bannockburn visitor centre on this trip but it is worth a visit. The Wallace Tower is near by. Stirling is also a good starting point for trips, I visited Aberdeen, Perth, Linlithgow and Crieff during my stay. the town centre itself was quiet during my stay maybe because it was November but it does mean you are not jostling with the crowds as you would in most cities.

Stirling is a great city for people interested in history...

Stirling is a great city for people interested in history and craft - the castle is unique and full of treasures, such as re-created tapestries, carving and decoration. The bus station is a short walk from the castle and shopping streets, and there are several park and rides.

The history of Stirling, it’s pivotal setting as the link...

The history of Stirling, it’s pivotal setting as the link between the Highlands and lowland Scotland, it’s Royal connections and it’s impressive buildings made our first visit here memorable. We will certainly come again to explore further. The castle, the Holy Rood church and the historic old river bridge and site of the battle in 1297 (?) were the highlights for us.

Our stay at the Stirling Highland Hotel was brief but very positive. It's impossible to talk about the hotel without mentioning its unique architecture; after all, it was formerly a school, which gives it a unique vibe. The room was comfortable, tidy, and clean, and the breakfast was served buffet-style with many options, all very good.

Excellent hotel in the City Centre, close to the train station too. The room we had was fantastic and a great size for family of four. The room was very clean with a very nice bathroom. We paid extra to have breakfast but well worth it with the variety of food available! The bar, restaurant and lounge areas are very comfortable too.
