Compared to the price of some hotels we was expecting a basic hotel. From the check in the staff was lovely. The room was a perfect size and the bathroom was spotless so was the bedding and provided towels. The breakfast was perfect we had the full English which was just the right size and was encouraged to help ourselves to a wide choice of fruit juices, cereals, bread, jams etc. We was there to attend a friends funeral but we plan to stay again as we found it a perfect location to go round sightseeing. Beautiful area we had our daughter auditioning in Basildon reformers uni and was only 20 min drive from the Oakland we could have stayed longer but for work commitments I’d recommend the Oakland to anyone visiting Essex and surrounding area half the price of your usual premier inns etc and lovely people and great breakfast highly recommend and will definitely stay again when I’m in the area ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Guest review bywayneUnited Kingdom - 10
My wife and I stayed at this family-run hotel for two nights...
My wife and I stayed at this family-run hotel for two nights (Friday and Saturday nights).We enjoyed a very generous and tasty breakfast. All the staff we met, on Reception and in the Restaurant, were very friendly. Despite the fact that the hotel is located in the centre of the town and that music is played in the ground floor bar till midnight on Friday and Saturday nights our room was very quiet. The free Wi-Fi worked very well. I visited as I was visiting family - Woodham Ferrers has lots of facilities - such as park (for walking the dog) -Manor farm for children's activities (brilliant - mainly all outside); leisure centre with swimming pool (not particularly big) and a very compact but with variety shopping centre. This is a family area and does not support luxury/designer shops Woodham Ferrers has good access to major road links and a train station to London.
