The breakfasts were excellent, the view of the fjord was fantastic, we also ordered a Greenlandic buffet dinner - a great culinary experience. Overall, we were very satisfied, the staff was helpful and willing. The communication from the reception before and during our holiday was great. The free transfer from the airport to the hotel and to the harbour when we left for Disko Island was seamless.

We are a family of five including 3 children, and the apartment we lived on the 4th floor was spacious enough and has such an amazing view. We had a comfortable stay and the place made a positive experience for our travels in Ilulissat. I would definitely recommend it to larger families ad anyone wishing a spacious and comfortable stay in one of the most far away locations in the world. The house itself is amazing. It is spotless. Furniture is modern (Danish style everywhere!) and designed to make you feel comfortable (as you would feel at home). In the kitchen you will find everything you need to cook. Coffe and tea are also available there. Heat system is an important issue in this house as temperatures outside are not high even in Summer. Views from the dining room are aweosome. You can follow a huge iceberg moving in its way to the ocean before melting. But the best without any doubt is Anders. He helped us with some tours, offering his suggestions and good knowledge of the area. He also helped us to book a taxi to the airport and to find someone for a Kafemik. When you are an independent traveller (you do not travel with a travel agency) Anders makes you feel safe. You know you can contact him if you need any help. In such a remote city , as Ilullisat is, Anders has been an important part of our trip. We would love to come back in Winter to spot Northern Lights and to enjoy dog sleeding. Thank you very much Anders for your kindly attention and supporting.

It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience you'll see the wales, so a separate trip to watch wales may not be needed. The icefiord remains the most impressive thing to see from a walking distance and also from a boat. Eqi glacier is nice, but less impressive and takes a long time to go there. Icefiord center is an interesting site to visit, as you'll pass the sledge dog keeping site along the way. Do not touch or try to intervene with digs, as this my end lethaly for... them. I found the place terrible for dogs... and any animals in general, as they are kept on chain. However, it is par of the culture and that's something interesting to see.

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale...

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale watching etc, but we felt inclined to go with the local tour operators, who deserve the business, and really do know so much about the area and how to respect the wildlife. Getting around was easy, as it's a small town, taxis aplenty too. We didn't eat out as we were self-catering. Two good supermarkets in the high street. One gripe though is the amount of litter, sometimes the bins were overflowing. I would suggest a town litter pick occasion!

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland.

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland. We have never seen such huge icebers. There are good options to trail in the area (Yellow Trail is the easiest one although is not such easy as it may seen). You move everywhere walking although taxi is not an expensive option. "I love Ilullisat tours" offers very good boat tours. Hangout Bistro is a restaurant with good options for dinner or lunch.

Ilulissat is a city providing all services for tourists what the arctic can offer. Tour guides and equipment for hiking on the ice, flying over it or visit it from the sea. Watching the amazing whales and the breathtaking experience of calving of the glaciers can be accessed from Ilulissat. would strongly recommend Cafe Inuit for their kind service and for the delicious food which offers not only greenlandic but asian treats.

Absolutely gorgeous with the Icebergs, Ice Fjord, glaciers, the seals and whales, calving of ice, kayaking, the wonderful people and the homely feel of Ilulissat. This has been one of the best places in the world that we have visited.

Amazing staff...Instead of a 4 night stay, due to an Icelandair flight cancellation, I could only stay for 1 night. My flight was later than expected in arriving but I was met at the airport by a smiling staff member. Lovely room with neighbouring dog giving a welcome!! Super breakfast and very helpful staff giving me help to get an early walk into Ilulissat before returning to hotel for return trip to airport. Hospitality at its best! Thank you all so much.

location is great and price is very budget friendly. I prefer this accommodation over all others in town. operated by Hotel Icefiord and Topas. I will continue to stay here in the future. it meets my needs but it isn’t for everyone. the hotel is very basic at best but the Wi-Fi is good and you’re steps from grocery stores, restaurants, and the meeting place for tours. are the apartments ratty? yes. do I care? no.

Great hotel with fantastic views from hotel rooms and restaurant. Spacious, modern and very clean room/bathroom with large panoramic window overlooking Disko Bay and its icebergs. Very friendly & helpful staff. Tour booking company (World of Greenland) on-site. Fantastic breakfast buffet. In-house restaurant serves very good lunch & dinner. Complimentary shuttle to airport and hourly service into town.

Room with the Balcony gives amazing view on the bay with moving icebergs directly from the bad. Staff is very friendly and accomodating to all changes caused by the cancel flights. Restaurant offers good breakfast and even better dinner with the view on the bay. One of the walking trails start 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Hotel offers shuttle bus to the airport
