We arrived late at Oscar Hotel because of a long wait at the border, and the owner was so kind and understanding. He genuinely felt bad that we were tired and even let us check out at 12 instead of 11, which we really appreciated. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this is a family-run hotel because the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We felt right at home thanks to the lovely owner and his son, Kostas, who was also super friendly and down to earth. The beds were very comfortable, the room had everything we needed, and the price was amazing. We truly wish we had more time to stay. 100% would definitely come back again! If you see this comment, thank you once again to both of you 🙏😍

Igoumenitsa is an ideal starting point to visit lots of lovely areas of mainland Greece. The beaches North of the town towards Albania are lovely and the water clean. Outside Igoumenitsa going south there are lots of bays and hotels to visit and some lovely unspoilt countryside and villages. A visit to the Acheron Gorge is really worthwhile.

When I was in Igoumenitsa, I checked out Zanzibar — definitely a must-visit! The vibe was great, the food was amazing, and the sunset views were stunning. We had a pre-wedding gathering there, went for a swim, and the staff were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

I recommend a visit to the Archeological museum of Igoumenitsa. This museum is excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff and an amazing collection including exhibits from a recent exploration near to Igoumenitsa. Igoumenitsa castle is worth a visit. It is close to the town centre and an excellent viewpoint for the port area as well as being well preserved with informative signage. Walk along the promenade from the ferry port towards the beach. Rent a bicycle and cycle to the beach. Order souvlaki and a beer from the street cafes along the promenade.

The city is a typical Greek city dependent on sea trade and transport. It also has nice beaches but the harbour as hub for the surrounding islands of Corfu and other islands like Paxos in the Ionian Sea, and therefore there is a lot of sea traffic on the water as well in the city as the main motorway leads from Igoumentisa to Thessaloniki.

I liked the fact that everything is within walking distance.

I liked the fact that everything is within walking distance. Caught a fairy to Corfu and spent the day there also. If we had a car it would have been so much better but was too scared to drive on the wrong side of the road being from Australia lol. The thing that was a disappointment was the fact that there are step’s everywhere and if you are disabled there is no chance to get in and out of shops etc… Foot paths were uneven and too many stray cats and dogs.

We used the Hotel as a stopover during our holiday, we were using the port as a point of transfer over to the island of Corfu. The hotel and location cannot be faulted. We found a small taverna within 50 meters of the hotel where we ate for the evening.

That's actually a decent hotel. The renovations are almost over and it may be turning to a very good one :) Most bad reviews seem to be due to the state before and during renovations, in any case the staff is very kind and helpful. It's not a luxury resort, but the location is good too!

Just a one night stay after a flight from U.K. to Corfu airport and ferry to mainland. Short walk from ferry port. Bed was very comfortable and hotel was a good location for a good choice of restaurants in the evening. Staff very helpful booking an onward taxi.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel... nice and tidy rooms. very kind and helpful staff. highly recommended to everyone, and especially to those coming by ferry from Italy and needing a technical stopover... the hotel is in fact a 3-minute walk from the port...

This was our second visit here. The hotel is only four minutes drive from the port and about 15 minutes walk to the town centre and tavernas. Owner very friendly. Very big rooms. Will stay again and I highly recommend this place.
