We stayed at Hotel Lavica in Samobor and had a very nice experience. The receptionist was extremely kind and helpful, which made check-in smooth and welcoming. The breakfast was decent, especially considering it was included in the room price. The room furniture was a bit dated, but everything was very clean and well maintained. The bed and pillow were comfortable, and we slept well. The bathroom was fine—nothing fancy, but functional and clean. The hotel is located right in the center of Samobor, next to a beautiful park, which made it easy to explore this charming village. Overall, a simple but pleasant place to stay if you're visiting Samobor.

Villa Laganini is absolutely amazing. It exceeded our expectations. It was perfect for our extended stay and was fantastic as our base and relaxation location. We felt as though it was our home away from home. Our kids loved the outdoor space and pool, and we enjoyed the quiet and comfortable bedrooms. The entire house has climate control. Whether you spend time outside on the terrace and pool or relaxing inside, you won't be disappointed. It's a peaceful location within walking distance to Samobor. Also has free parking in front which is ideal. The facilities are fully equipped and perfect for a travelling family, but would suit any type of traveller. The hosts are fantastic, contactable whenever needed, and so friendly and nice. We can't wait to return in the future.. Hvala Martina i Damir.

This is where I grew up and been coming back with my family...

This is where I grew up and been coming back with my family twice a year since moving to the UK. My husband LOVES Samobor, he says he loves that life slows down and he can fully relax. Our children cannot wait for our trips. They love the town, we are pretty much residents at cafe "U prolazu" where our favourite employee Lila is always greeting us with a hug. We cannot recommend enough Gabrek restaurant with their incredibly tasty food and wonderful staff, restaurant Nino at the entrance to Samobor where we love their home made breads with delicious grilled meats and pizzeria Napoli that has been one of the most popular places in Samobor since the 80's. Since I was a small child, Nebi the ice cream shop has been a staple of the town. They now have two locations and the family run business has always been welcoming and kind just like wonderful ice cream flavours they offer. Always lovely to walk up the the castle ruins. It is an easy walk and the views are stunning from above. Museum has been under construction for a while now, but it is a lovely journey though time. You can see how it all looked way back when there was sea in these parts. In summer months, a cool down at the Vugrinscak pool (only 15min nice walk through the paths in the forest from the sqyare) is a must. We love it there. The food is cheap in Samobor in comparisson to the UK. There are so many different things on offer.

Very picturesque town.

Very picturesque town. Beautiful, cobbled town square with lots of trees and walks from the town to the Castle. Interesting covered market. Some great shops, cafes and bars, including one playing no-stop Boney M. Also a lovely Bar called Havana and beautiful cafe in the square with fantastic cake. Beautiful walks if you've got transport. We had a hired campervan and went to see a lovely waterfall and got a beer up there too. Would recommend.

It's a great little Old Town centre; plenty of places to eat...

It's a great little Old Town centre; plenty of places to eat or enjoy a coffee in the plaza. Nice walks along the little river and the old castle is really close too. We were there for the summer jazz festival but we also go for the Christmas markets, plenty of mulled wine and live music with a real community feeling 😁

I felt fantastic! It was my first experience with a hostel. Welcoming owner with a kind mother who helped him with the hostel. Everything is clean, orderly, simple but pleasant environment. they tried to create maximum facilities for the guests. Great location in the center of a beautiful town. I warmly recommend the Gabrek restaurant. Fabulous food, pleasant environment and perfect service.

Samobor is a nice, small historical city with a lot of cafes, confectioneries, bakeries wineshops and shops for Samobor's culinary specialties - bermet, kremsnita, mustarda, cesnofka, greblica and so on. Not only the historical center of the city is interesting, but also the countryside is excellent for activities like hiking, biking wine-touring.. and/or relaxing. Good quality of asphalt roads in the area would enjoy many motorbike riders, as well.

During our 2-day stop, we visited the old castle (impressive ruins, and through the firing lines you can see straight to Zagreb), swam in a pleasant little pool with a great atmosphere on Vugrinščak and visited the interesting Samobor Museum. We ate great at the Hotel Lavica and tried the Samobor cream cheese (kremsnita) in the cafes U prolazu and Livadić (the cream cheese was slightly better in U prolazu, and the coffee was dramatically better at Livadić). I regret that we missed famous restaurant Gabreku 1929. Generally speaking Samobor is a pleasant little town with a rich history and beautiful nature. The main square is picturesque and lively. At the time of our visit, many bars were closed (due to annual leave). Closer look shows that the facades could be better arranged (signs have faded, places of service activities, such as hairdressing salons, look sloppy and unattractive), and people could be more interested in their guests.

The apartment is very spacious, spotless clean, very unique and authentic interior on a quiet location. We were greeted by the host who is very accommodating with information about the apartment and what to do in Samobor. Beds are comfortable, including the bunk beds for the kids (ages 11 and 12). Bathroom is spacious and clean as new. Fully equipped kitchen and great coffee in the room :)

Friendly staff welcomed us when we first arrived Showed us to our room and suggested a lovely walk to do to the castle. Hotel is right in the middle of town and there is free parking behind the hotel Rooms were generous and beautifully appointed.

Lovely apartments , secure parking, quiet and calm sleep, we like Samobor and stay here with pleasure. Lovely cafe shops next to the flat, it is a small village so all is really close by. Fans in summer, when it is too hot, this is helpful.
