Originally booked for 1 night but extended to 3 nights,because of the convenience this place offers. Super close to metro and major transport hubs. Super close to tons of food outlets and cafes. Staffs are friendly and speaks English which is a big plus. They went out of their way to guide me in whatever. If anyone’s a budget traveler like me. I’m telling you this that,this place is a “good deal”.

This a very old city of mixed culture.

This a very old city of mixed culture. This is called "City of Joy". This is a very crowded city. But one should be careful while moving. Various restaurants with affordable price is available including street food. Convenience are cheap to move around. People in general are helpful to foreigners.

A lot to see and doing some guided tours recommended. It is hot, humid and possibly raining so need to pace yourself. If you're visiting during festivals it can be very busy. Highlights for us were the flower market, Howrah bridge and station, visiting the pandals during Durga Puja, the booksellers on College street and browsing the multiple markets and shopping malls (air conditioned.)

Yes Kolkata is my favorite place as i graduated from NIT/REC Durgapur. Whenever i came to kolkata meet those lost friend. and unfortunately your waiter conduct are not impressive .Need to improve their conduct, As a traveller i stayed mostly in Oberoi

Kolkata is a truly cosmopolitan city. At the same time a historical city with many buildings from the British era. A city suitable for all budgets. Nice shopping malls, good food, excellent movie theaters. Great shopping. Amazing street food at unbelievable prices. It lives up to its reputation "City of Joy".

Kolkata, a city that promises rich history and culture, sadly falls short in the most basic aspects of civic life. The streets are perpetually littered with trash, and the stench of garbage hangs heavy in the air. Extreme traffic which seem unnecessary. The humidity is suffocating, making every step feel like a chore. What's equally disappointing is the behaviour of the locals. Rudeness seems to be a default trait, with people often displaying a blatant disregard for courtesy. From vendors to pedestrians, there's a palpable lack of civility that's jarring. While Kolkata has its cultural gems, the overall experience is marred by its filth and the unpleasant demeanor of its people. Unless the city addresses these fundamental issues, it will struggle to attract visitors who crave a more pleasant and respectful environment. *Not recommended* for those who value cleanliness and basic human decency.

I have been traveling around India for the past 3 weeks and out of all the places I stayed all around, this is by far the best hotel. Hotel is if I’m not mistaken the oldest hotel in India and they are maintaining the heritage in a excellent manner. Friendly and helpful staff and housekeeping is the most professional that I have seen in all the years I have travelled. Breakfast buffet was exceptional and so was the staff. My experience in Oberoi was so good, I extended my stay adding a couple of more extra days in Kolkata.

What a lovely old-style Bengali hotel, in a great part of town. The boys on the desk were really helpful with breakfasts, taxis and other stuff. Friendly and accommodating. The room was large and comfy, with towels and toiletries, books and paintings. We loved our stay in Cal, what a great place to see this city from. Oh, the shower was the best supply of hot water we’ve had in India in three weeks!!

Lovely hotel in a central location nearby the main shopping area of Camac Street and Park Street. Very safe and affordable. Friendly and professional services by the staff making you feel very comfortable and had a relaxing and enjoyable stay here.
