very excellent experience of staying in this house. the hosts are very kind couple. We arrived late, it was already dark, the host walked downstairs greeting us. Show us all the facility to us. They are really kind-hearted people. It is so warm and considerate. the house is very spacious, tidy and cozy, with good facility and kitchen ware.

Amazing location. Line a dream place. Google map shows it on left side of the access road while it's on right side. Follow the instructions by host not Google. Glass balcony room is out of this world with heating in it. Very pretty and climbable hill at the back. Nice hot tub. Neighbour house keeps lights on all night that interferes with Northern lights viewing. This is the only negative point

Our stay at the cottage was an absolute delight! Surrounded by nature's beauty, although we missed the northern lights, the amenities were outstanding and catered to all our needs. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the cabin is very warm and cozy. I found myself dreaming of the Icelandic landscapes—it felt straight out of a fairytale. The place has some coffee, creamer, sugar, and a well-equipped kitchen with a stove made our short stay effortless. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone exploring Iceland! It was a wonderful stay, and we thank you for the memorable experience.

Akranes is a pleasant community within east driving distance to Reykjavik. Accommodations there are less expensive compared to the surrounding are but also are not as updated. There was one good sit-down restaurant in the town. The public swimming pool was nice and there a public geothermal baths on the beach there. When the fish factory opens, whole portions of the town stink of fish. If you are looking for more affordable accommodation for a one night stop, this town is a good option, but there is not much to see and do in the town itself.

Akranes is one of our favorite day trips from Reykjavík.

Akranes is one of our favorite day trips from Reykjavík. We usually take the bus out and back, although I could see it being a great longer stop for non-locals too. It is much quieter with far less tourist traffic than other towns around Iceland. The lighthouse is a delight. It is open to the public most days and has amazing acoustics. The lighthouse keeper invites folks to sing or play instruments and will happily accommodate musicians who want to record there! There are also wonderful beaches and a public pool by the ocean. The museum is also lovely. We walk the town for the trip, but I could see a car being useful as well.

The description should be more accurate; I thought I was renting a chalet with a separate bedroom as shown in the photos, but I only rented a studio apartment, which was a bit small for three adults. So, we were disappointed.

The town of Akranes was nice, there are 2 larger supermarkets in the town, so it was ideal for us, who lived in the solitude of the Móar Cottage accommodation, we saw the northern lights 2 nights in a row, it was an incredible experience and I highly recommend this accommodation. Otherwise, in the town of Akranes, the lighthouse didn't appeal to me much, it simply didn't enchant me at all.

It's a town about 50 km from Reykjavik, ideal if you don't want to pay the exorbitant prices of the capital. The town is practically deserted, but it has a supermarket where you can buy what you need.

This is a small town with absolutely nothing to do and absolutely no atmosphere. There's one bar in a hotel, and that's it. Even the so-called Irish pub is gone. The town is known for its cement factory, which is also very centrally located. This is definitely not a place to stay in beautiful Iceland.

Hosts has been extremely friendly and helpful. The place is spotless, and the kitchen was very well equipped. We could also use the washing machine and drier. The guesthouse has two rooms, a double and a tween bed and a very cosy living room. We enjoyed every minute and were very sad not staying longer. It was one of the best guesthouses we saw in Iceland.

The cottage is located between others on a smal "campground"close to the road between Akranes and the Tunnel towards Reykjavik. From the terrace we were even able to see Reykjavikon the other side of the ocean. The cabin is really cozy and has everything you need.
