We stayed one night in this fantastic apartment. Communication with staff before our arrival was very friendly and professional. Petra picked up us at the boat stop with umbrellas in rainy day (very attentive) and we took small walk via center of Burano. Check-in was very quick and possible even earlier than avised. Room was perfectly clean and equipped. Shower, heating, window, door and incredible comfortable big size bed...everything in perfect condition and there was not any noise during night. Morning we took 10-15 min walk to Venissa Wine Resort for breakfast...and this was one of the best breakfasts we ever had. Everything homemade - bread, yogurt, kefir, juice, sweet bar...and the best scrambled eggs I ever had. Absolutely heaven. Thank you for this experience !!! Good luck and keep doing what you are doing :))

Perfectly located to enjoy a mix of native lifetstyle surrounded by nature on mazzorbo and the more touristic, charming streets of burano. Just organize your dinner if you are planning to eat somewhere else. We experienced limited opening hours on burano, but felt as well comfortable eating at venissas osteria contemporanea. Everyone was very nice and we could enjoy a relaxed atmosphere yet no wishes left unfullfilled. January seems to be a good choice to enjoy a relaxed venissa and not so crowded burano.

Accurate description. Perfect location. Very communicative and helpful host. We arrived very late but it was easy to access the cottage. We were there in January so it was cold but Silvia had made sure it was toasty warm on our arrival. Silvia also provided biscuits, chocolate and emergency food rations.

Burano is arguably the best place to enjoy the Venetian Lagoon. Very well connected, friendly people and the possibility to enjoy a calm, quaint village from 17:00 to 10:00, when the tourists' invasion starts. Every place on the island can be reached in under 10 min by foot, and there is a surprising offer of high-quality food and drinks: the local supermarket, the greengrocer (opened until 13:00), a number of great bars, croissants to fight for...

Burano is an unusual island.

Burano is an unusual island. Small and tightly packed, and everyone knows everyone else. Locals are nice and ready to help, and they specialize in food: there is an enormous quantity of restaurants, of generally good quality but most close for dinner (since there are very few tourists who stay on the island). Markets (Rialto and Lido are excellent) and supermarkets are a foodie's delight, with an amazing variety of fruit and vegetables. Enjoying the sunset sipping a cocktail at the Pescaria Vecia is a unique experience.

The insta grammers flood in from the boats from around 10 am...

The insta grammers flood in from the boats from around 10 am. They can be found posing on every single bridge, by every single canal and by every single colourful house. Luckily, they generally leave by 7pm and the island is quiet with people living traditional and modest lives, the dog walkers coming out and the one bar that isn't for tourists left open.

For some reason I had booked my departure flight for 6am.

For some reason I had booked my departure flight for 6am. On the island of Burano, it is easy to get to the airport on public (vaporetto) transportation, but it involves a 3-point trip of about an hour. At 4 in the morning this was not feasible. Don Mario (my host) arranged for a water taxi (speedboat). He himself got me down to the quay and saw me off! The taxi whisked me the airport and the rest went smoothly.

Lovely colourful island - great for photos.

Lovely colourful island - great for photos. Busy during the day but quiet early morning and in the evening. People friendly and food amazing. Very easy to get to Venice, Marco Polo airport etc. from the island by water bus. Ice creams the best in italy.

Burano is an easy boat trip to/from Venice!

Burano is an easy boat trip to/from Venice! We loved the colorful buildings and that it was much quieter in the mornings and evenings! It does get busy during the day with visitors. It was much more affordable than Venice too!
