Spending two nughts was less of a riush. The only disappointment is the lack of information about the ooening times of Borga Laudato Si so despite soending two nighrs there it was not open on Friday. My host was great

The location was excellent with a great view of the lake. The room was large and very stylishly decorated. Great shower. The reception was very helpful in advising us on visiting the Vatican via the Rome Metro. Parking was good and secure. The dinner and drinks were all very good. The breakfast was a little disappointing. The layout was awkward. The hot food ran out and was not replenished. Quite a lot of steps but no lift.

An interesting small town that is sufficiently high on a hill to avoid the heat of Rome yet within easy travelling distance of the city. The views are spectacular. The only real difficulty is the lack of a supermarket but there are some in the nearby town of Albano.

If you want peace, tranquility and the proximity to Rome, then this is your place. If you want to vacation like a Roman, then this is your spot. If you want to get off the beaten path and not be a tourist and open yourself to the possibilities of surrounding Rome, then this is a place to visit. Lovely, small hilltop town. Great restaurants reasonably priced, wonderful people and surroundings. Food, shops, and people make you want to return to this gem of a village again and again. See the Papal place and stop in to the church in the square. Do yourself a favor and give in to Castel Gandolfo and all it has to offer. You will be glad you did.

The view at room number 1 was great looking over lake Albano...

The view at room number 1 was great looking over lake Albano. We were originally given a very small room when we arrived late at 23:00 hours my wife complained about the size and receptionist moved us to room7 whhich was adequate. The owner Georgego later on moved us to a bigger better room with a balcony when we arrived back at the hotel which was a nice surprise. I haves stayed at this hotel over several years and 35 years ago stayed for 8 weeks while working here on an installation . It hold a lots of good memories. I would not recommend eating an evening meal or evening refreshments as the prices are extortionate. The meals are good but there are plenty of cheaper restaurants around the lake to eat.

Exceptional! The place was picturesque and rustic. We enjoyed our stay there especially the breakfast that came with the stay. Our host was very helpful and accommodating who went out of his way to guide us where we needed to go. I don’t mind coming back to this place in the future. Highly recommended!

A beautiful apartment with fantastic view of lake and within easy reach of Castel Gandolfo piazza. We could walk down to the lake in about 20mins and hike back up at the end of the day (99m elevation over approx 1.8km distance) so we left the car parked at the property for most of our stay (car came in handy for supermarket shop). The layout of the property was great plus a lovely balcony. The bed was very comfortable with nice linen. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay.

We stayed in a self contained apartment with all the essentials provided. Large area with washing machine, everything you need to cook if desired and plenty of linens etc. the Apartment is up high and you get a spectacular view of Lake Albano. the apartment is a 5 min walk to train station, so an easy day trip to Rome. there are back steps (plenty of them! but quite beautiful) that take you up to Castel Gandolfo town with restaurants, cafes and the Pope's summer house.

Rome is fantastic city, I visited many times, but Castel Gandolfo is really excellent place to stay. Real Italy. Apartment is full equipped and very comfortable. We traveled with 3 old kid, it was great, heating, all equipment, even Ikea glasses for children. Location, stunning. I like the center, delicious food from the restaurants and of course Italian moving.

Lovely little studio apartment right on the main pedestrian street with great restaurants literally outside the front door. Really well equipped for its size as well. The owner was exceptionally friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Castel Gandolfo is such a gorgeous town, a real gem only 45 minutes from Rome but another world away. Highly recommend!
