We stayed only for one night visiting Etna on our Sicily trip. Very nice, vintage hotel just a short drive from gondola. Very nice staff. Great view to the valley. It is possible to have gourmet dinner. We even got some coupons on the reception for free drinks and snacks in the bar on top of gondola. Just a few 100 meters away there is a great view point to the Etna top craters (we were very lucky to see a big outburts right on the night we were staying there, amazing.) Etna, even without active outburts is a must visit site when you are on Sicily and we recomend this hotel.

Everything was great. The staff was amazing. First and foremost: clearly dog lovers, they really liked my Labrador, which felt very welcoming. Lots of staff who spoke English. Very cozy room. Bathroom was 9,5/10. Just a little mold under the silicone, but nothing too major. Their food, both breakfast and restaurant is sublime. They use only local artisanal ingredients and products. I highly recommend their house pizza with pistachio cream base. They have a sort of bakery/bar style ordering system where you can buy sandwiches, croissants, drinks, pastries, ... to take with you. Very handy, for long hikes. Location is perfect for starting your hike up the mountain. Souvenir shops, excursion providers and an ATM are all within 5min walking distance at most. There's also private parking behind an operated gate, good for about 20-25 cars. Absolutely loved this place.

It's a very special place. We heard Etna humming sounds in the night. Everything's perfect. We would like to revisit this place in a few years and see how it grows. For now it's just perfect, like some kind of magical sanctuary in the woods, in the vicinity of volcano.

A very nice town, I particularly like the climate, not hot, humid but not too humid. Many options to walk, eat etc. Very close to Aetna and Catania. I do have to want though that Italians in Sicily (don't know about the rest of Italy) are complete Gypsies! They will try to take your money using any trick they can think of! They make you pay for parking (e.g. in Palermo) and for toilets! When you sit in a restaurant or café, they charge you for the service - and if you just take away, they charge you again! In the airport with Ryanair, they made us pay 46 euro to carry the same suitcase we have been carrying in Ryanair from any other destination for free, including the flight to reach Sicily! Ancient Greek spots are too expensive - more than 10 euros each, more expensive than the Acropolis! To visit Aetna's peak with a guide needs 120 euros per person, plus another 55 if you want to see some extra landforms! So be prepared to experience the worst driving behaviour, illegal driving and road network conditions I've seen in all countries I've been to so far! Full of useless roundabouts, signs don't exist in English anywhere, and the network is too confusing for a first timer, even if he is Italian.

Great location for watching the eruptions!

Great location for watching the eruptions! The town is pretty, with plenty of eating and drinking options, and an easy journey to Catania, Syracusa, Etna and various beaches. Parking is difficult, and the roads are v narrow, so think about a small car.

Nicolosi is a great little town on base of mountains Etna.

Nicolosi is a great little town on base of mountains Etna. It has some great restaurants and a cool bar on the town square. But it is difficult to get a taxi and the walking is on busy streets. So if you are not driving your own car, you have to book taxis from Catania a day in advance. Nicolosi need Uber or investment in taxis.

This town has so much charm and everyone here is so lovely. We enjoyed going on a long walk around the neighborhood, and at night the whole town comes alive in the Piazza. These folks know how to have fun!

Anyone staying in Nicolosi for a holiday needs their own...

Anyone staying in Nicolosi for a holiday needs their own transport. Sicily is not like Malta and doesn't have a good public bus service, sadly. Also you need to be a very confident driver if you are considering hiring a car there. It's every man/woman for himself. The only other way to get around is by booking tours, which do seem to be plentiful. Plenty of good places in Nicolosi to eat and well stocked supermarkets. My only criticism really is the amount or rubbish left on the road sides, which seems such a shame for such a beautiful civilised place and is something that local councils really need to address.

The apartment was very comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. It was quiet yet really close to the centre. Gio was an excellent and considerate host. We arrived early but it was no problem and he gave recommendations of where to eat. Also it was my partner's birthday and left a cake and a bottle of local wine - so thoughtful and generous. We also liked Nicolosi town and the fact it was only 1/2 hour drive up to the meeting point for our guided walk up Etna. All very enjoyable and recommended!

The property is really amazing! The apartment is spotless, clean, comfortable. The pool outdoor is perfect for hot days to relax. Location is amazing! You will do 20 minute to Etna, and 30 minutes to Catania airport. Nicolosi is a beautiful village. Inside you have a kitchen where to cook, a coffee machine and fridge. Like a suggestion it will be useful some oil, pepper and some condiments. We had a little treat, something for breakfast like muffins, toast and jam. We had an amazing time here ❤️

Super lovely rooms. We could see MT.Etna from one window and whole Catania thru the other. Breakfast was lovely. It has a pool and a garden to relax. Whirpool has to be payed for and it 50 euros.
