Golfo Aranci was not for us, but it may be great for others.
Golfo Aranci was not for us, but it may be great for others. It seemed to be a place that was more geared towards wealthy foreigners and not the average Italian tourist. This showed in the extremely high prices for food, beverages and groceries as well as the minimal choices in dishes/foods. Every restaurant seemed to offer the same upscale pasta and pizza that you found again and again and did not seem to be very authentic Gallurese or Sardinian. In fact, we barely felt like we were in Sardinia much of the time. However, it does have beautiful public beaches, great options for daytrips on the sea, as well as being very close to Olbia (great city!) and lots of amazing beaches, not to mention La Maddalena. Oh, there's also a train, although we didn't use it. We always prefer a car to get around. Parking in Golfo Aranci is expensive though. It says that you pay everywhere all year all the time, but if you look closely, you might find some free overnight spots. We liked Pittulongu instead because it had an adults only place that was excellent. But in general, going after school starts is a sure fire way to avoid having too many screaming babies around you on the beach. We probably won't be back to stay in Golfo Aranci, but we might go back on a day trip to revisit a few of the beaches or take the hike up the mountain that we didn't get to do this time.Guest review byTara_in_ItaliaItaly - 6.0
The location of the Village was excellent with easy access...
The location of the Village was excellent with easy access to the sea with hotel transport. This is not a 5* and whilst the staff were lovely and friendly rooms could have been cleaner and bed clothes changed at least once in 8 days - they weren't. Breakfast and dinner were adequate, though repetitive - main course fish three days running and pork also on three days. It was a bit like Hogwarts without the discipline and a lot of pushing and shoving. The bar was very expensive - two vodka tonics 32 euros - and there was a total absence of service during the day - no coffee shop / cafe. Great beaches and worth climbing the Golf Aranci peak (Capo Figari) ~ takes 2 to 3 hours and not particularly challenging. it was wonderful place !!!really we don't want to go away from this place and very cozy and nice family hotel Tabby. This hotel has really more than for 3 stars level. Our room was big and has a big comfortable bed , extra beds ,big terass with nice sea view. Clean beach is nearby and has all for the good accommodation (to rent beds ,umbrellas..) The sea is nice but partially has sea weeds. Big promenade to walk ,nice park, shops, restaurants .You can see many cruise boats coming to harbor and many boats and yachts. We had the very nice yacht trip on Lady Buzz with sea food , vine and nice Italian songs ,our captain was amazing! The owner was incredibly nice and proactive, ensuring everything was perfect for our visit. The location couldn’t have been better—it allowed us to easily access both sides of the sea depending on the wind conditions, and the view was simply splendid. The flat was extremely clean, and there were excellent shops nearby, making everything very convenient. This place is ideal for big families and is truly the best spot to enjoy a relaxing holiday. She served a delicious breakfast on the terrasse with a magnificient view of the ocean and mountains. This hidden gem sits in the countryside and is accessible by car. Beautiful beaches on Costa Esmeralda are about 30 mns drive. The room was very clean and comfortable.
