    It’s a city with good weather, not too crowded, surrounded by mountains, and offers plenty of activities. There’s an AEON mall, and food is easy to find. It’s perfect for those who enjoy skiing and snow.

    The location was great with great scenery.

    The location was great with great scenery. Ten minutes walk through snow trails to Happoone ski lift. Ten minutes walk to village for rentals & restaurants (Ooyokuri restaurant*****)! The staff was excellent and accommodating of late evening arrival. Inside & outside onsens were very good. Breakfast was great with selection & taste. Twelve (7adults, 1teen, 5children) give it a big thumbs up! It was end of season, so shops and restaurants were closed, snow was a bit slushy for me, good for kids. Plus side few people, no congestion or lines.

    This is a fantastic ski resort. We love Goryu and Iimori.

    This is a fantastic ski resort. We love Goryu and Iimori. There are several options for skiers and snowboarders of different abilities. The ski school is excellent. It is not too busy, and there is little to no queue for ski lifts. We are coming back.

    For lovers of powder skiing, this is as good as it gets...

    For lovers of powder skiing, this is as good as it gets because of the reliable snowfall. The transport to this location is also very convenient--just a HSR from Tokyo and direct bus ride and you are set.

    Great place to experience fabulous skiing in Japan. Happo one was a great choice to have easy access to all the neighbouring resorts and using shuttle buses with our valley ski passes. We will be back.

    We stayed near Iwatake Gondola and skied Iwatake, Tsugaike...

    We stayed near Iwatake Gondola and skied Iwatake, Tsugaike and Cortina. My favorite of the 3 resorts was Tsugaike. The queues were relatively quiet and had more terrain. The Hakuba Valley shuttle will get you between all the resorts but it can get quite busy. ps. If you are staying in Iwatake and are travelling to Nagano with luggage (that you can manage easily) see if you can catch the direct bus rather than using the Hakuba Valley shuttle to get to the Happo Bus Terminal.

    Location! Only 6mins walk from Hakuba bus terminal and ski bus pick up for all resorts. Restaurant and supermarket are all within 10mins walk. Ski rental Woody’s only 4mins. Private onsen was relaxing and cheaper compared to other places in Hakuba. Rooms are spacious & clean. Hotel offers free pick up and drop off from Hakuba train station. There is ski room to leave your skis and snow board free of charge & free parking. Breakfast had variety of western and Asian food which was substantial.

    Amazing location. Easy to walk to Echoland village for meals, ski shops and the convenience store. Bus stop to all ski resorts at end of street (1min). The house is wonderfully compact with everything you need. Shower is great, heating is easy, washing machine an added bonus. Bedrooms are very spacious. So nice to break out of same old hotel rooms and stay in a Japanese house. It is also so peaceful here - especially with the snow - great to be off the main road.

    Great location for skiers! The hotel is located between the two biggest ski resorts in the area, Happo-One and Hakuba 47/Goryu, which can be easily accessed via free public shuttles. Further, Happo-One is a 25-minute walk from the hotel. The room was spacious, cozy and clean. We enjoyed breakfast (they serve a Western-style one) and it was nice to have the shuttle service which picked us up and brought us back to the station.

    A hotel in a really great location for a skiing holiday. It's 2 mins walk from the main bus terminal to get to all the ski resorts each morning, so for anyone planning on visiting multiple mountains in Hakuba, it's a great option to stay at. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and fun to chat to. The included breakfast was simple, hearty food great before a day of skiing! Coffee was also great which is always a plus.

    This place was fantastic. Mountain cabin in a distinctly Japanese style. It's not especially walkable but Toshi will shuttle you around the valley, including to Happo One ski resort. Just need to take a taxi if you're trying to get back after dinner time. Private onsen was really nice. Toshi and his wife were wonderful hosts, easily recommend.
