Llama is a typical Japanese town. Great for a walk, but one day is plenty! Madarao ski resort scenery, location is wonderful. Madarao is a small village about 25 minutes away by bus from Iiyama. It is very accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Dinner has to be booked in advance since there are not too many choices.
