Takamatsu is really a great place to visit as this is the main hub when you want to travel to Setouchi islands , famous for udon , fresh sea food , Olive product, soya sauce, seasame oil too. Tons of food stuff can be bought from that area. Also lots of historic places to visit

was there for the Setouchi Triennale so Takamatsu was the ferry dep point. Ritsurin Gardens are well worth an evening stroll.. happened across a few other nice locla music events -unexpected encounters with friendly locals were a highlight. all in all not a bad place to visit..

We were staying in Takamatsu as it had eady access and good...

We were staying in Takamatsu as it had eady access and good ferry services to the Art Islands...there was also so much to see and do there. Highly recommend visiting the Takamatsu castle aldo a visit to Ritsurin park. You can have a boat ride there amongst beautiful scenery. ..

I really enjoyed visiting the beautiful Ritsurin garden. The station area doesn't have too much but if you're going to the city there's lots of cute shops and just a nice vibe from the people.

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan.

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.

Takamatsu was a great base from which to visit the area.

Takamatsu was a great base from which to visit the area. We based ourselves there and did daybtrips to places like Kotohira and Shadoshima. All the things you need in a town, small enough not to be overwhelming.

3 minutes walk from: - Takamatsu station where we arrived from Okayama - ferry terminal where you can take ferries to naoshima, teshima etc (this was a big plus point for us) - local train station that takes you to the city area though you can also easily walk Views were fantastic from our room, breakfast was good, rooms were very clean, there’s a laundromat within the hotel which made it really convenient. All in all, excellent stay.

Very close to the train station and Takamatsu port. Close to the main shopping centre and no problem to find restaurants, convenient stores and fruit market. Owners are very accommodating and easy to communicate. They helped us carrying the luggage, and store it after check out. They even have someone that spoke Mandarin to walk us through the check in process, and talked to the residents upstairs when they were making noises.

Location is the best in town. Hotel is close to train staion, and you can see the hotel sign in front of the station. It is also close to Takamatsu castle park as well. Also several good restaurants are near by. main shopping and business places are about 10-15min walk and easy to navigate. Breakfast was simple, but it had everything I need.

We usually stay at a different hotel in Takamatsu but our friend’s band was playing here for the hotel’s 60th anniversary. Great night and great food. Staff were helpful and friendly . Only slight drawback is it’s a bit far from the ferries. However, right next to the spectacular Ritsurin Gardens, rated near the top of the gardens in Japan.
