FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Tokyo was a stopover to go south.

Tokyo was a stopover to go south. One could spend easily a month in Tokyo, and never finish exploring. Had a day and a half. Went to Disney Sea for a day, explored a shopping street close by on the way home -grilled chicken skewers- amazing. Before my flight, walked to a explored the imperial gardens and tokyo station, had ramen at a local, eatery.

Tokyo is an amazing city, so clean, easy to get around by train to any part of the city (that is as long as you can figure out how it works) We could have spent 3 weeks in the city and still not seen everything. This was our 2nd trip and we will go again. The street market off the Keogi line was great to find bargin

Second mimaru property we stayed at in Tokyo. We really liked the last one (Ueno east) but liked this even more. The room was more spacious, very spacious by Tokyo standards. Same comfy beds and helpful friendly staff. The location was good - very close to station on the Oedo line which runs across to the east side for Asakusa and Ueno, as well as being close to the west side neighbourhoods. The immediate neighbourhood was office towers and tall hotels, but plenty of services and close to livelier parts of Shinjuku as well.

My stay was excellent and I would come here again. The staff, the room and the onsen were amazing! The location was perfect as it was right next to convenience stores, the Toei Ōedo Line and even a post office. Shinjuku Central Park was just a short walk away. The room had air conditioning, comfortable bed, a tv with useful information, a bath tub and comfy yukata. It all felt very luxurious and I would highly recommend this hotel!

My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. Location was excellent and very near to Nihonbashi metro station as well as Tokyo station, making it convenient to transport our luggages to take the Shinkansen and Narita express. There were a few convenience stores nearby thus is was easy buy foods/snacks for breakfast/supper. As a nice gesture, they even provided complimentary sparkling sake as we were on our honeymoon!

The location of the hotel was excellent!! It's close to the Shinjuku Station, also the Shin Okubo station where is called the Korean district of Tokyo. Facilities, cleanliness, comfortness are all good. Depending on these, the price is good in Tokyo. If my husband will go to Tokyo alone, he will choose here again definitely. Thank you!

The staff were friendly and spoke good English. Capsules were a good size Location is easy to reach with Shinjuku station a short walk away. Bathroom area was well maintained. I wouldn't stay above a night here but for the price it's a good place to crash. Note that the hotel begins from the third floor of the building.
