My wife and I had an amazing experience here. The location, facilities, and hospitality were more than anyone can ask for. I wish I could've spent longer here, and we especially loved spending time with their dog, Akzholtai.

The family is so welcoming, kind and loving. We were supposed to stay one night, but we extended it to 2 nights. It was a memorable experience to stay with the beautiful Kazakh family and learn about their culture, food and everything. Talking about food, they prepared lots of delicious foods for us to eat. If I ever get the chance to go to Almaty again, I will surely be visiting them again. Lots of love

The owner and the wife is super helpful and very humble. Breakfast was fresh especially the dinner food which is the trout fish. VIEW WAS 10/10 on winter. We had a great picture taken. The host lived next door and was always responsive. The host knows the area well and gave us great advice. The host doesn’t speak much English but converses fine through a smart phone app. We never had trouble communicating. Breakfasts were good and we bought the dinners which were home-cooked traditional Kazakh meals. We told the host that we might be late and when we arrived late the host was there to greet us. He then took us to a local restaurant so that we would not get lost. We had our own guest house with a bed downstairs and a bed in the loft. It was warm (November stay) and comfortable. The guest house had a microwave, refrigerator, electric water kettle. We even got to have a Russian sauna in the home-made sauna next door. I’ve been in Kazakhstan for over a month and this was my favorite place!

Stayed at COZYREST near Kolsay and Kaindy Lakes and honestly loved it. The place really lives up to the name, super cozy, warm, and feels like you’re staying in someone’s comfy cabin rather than a random rental. We came in late autumn (basically almost winter) and it was still really warm inside, which was such a relief after being out exploring all day. The owner was super friendly and helpful. We rented a car and had no issues with parking. Location-wise, it’s perfect for visiting Kolsay and Kaindy. You can drive to Kaindy yourself but the road is pretty rocky and rough, so I’d actually recommend using their ride service. It’s not expensive and definitely less stressful than trying to take your own car up there. Breakfast is included and served at whatever time you agree on, and you can order other meals too which is super convenient when you just wanna stay in. Also tried the Russian banya, definitely recommend it. Just tell them ahead so they can prep it. Overall, really cozy spot, super homey vibes, perfect base for exploring the lakes. I’d definitely stay here again, totally recommend it.
