Absolutely charming boutique hotel, ideal for a family or a couple vacation! It’s located on a private beach with soft waves, so we could swim easily with my small kid. The pool is stunning. The food and cocktails are lovely! Special thanks to Zander, the owner, for his personal attention to all guests and control and care of all details during our stay. And Loki dog is our big love. The owner and her team are amazing - welcoming, helpful and very friendly! The room was spacious, clean and had a great balcony - one of the best we had in 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. A stunning swimming pool where you can chill out having a drink and observing the wild animals around such as squirrels, 2 kinds of monitor lizards, hundreds of birds,beautiful snakes,colorful parrots, monkeys and many others! The resort itself is in a virgin environment area by a protected lagoon in which there are fishes, lobsters,prawns and crabs incredibly delicious and tasty BUT most of all the most important is the people running the hotel. LALITH (or Lala) and his family, who is the one that manages and supervises the place, is a shining STAR and great Host i 've ever met ! He's the one that covers all clients' desires at once without any hesitation and always with a big smile! Great value for money! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The cabana we stayed in was very cute and situated so close to the beach that we could hear the waves as we fell asleep. The staff were very friendly and the property was well maintained. We were only scheduled to stay one night, but we changed our booking after we arrived so we could have an extra night.

Everything from the moment of the booking to the time of the check out was perfect. The location is beautiful, an oasis surrounded by jungle and right on the lagoon. Very clean, well maintained and with all the commodities you might need during your stay. The whole staff is incredibly friendly, attentive but never intrusive. We would come back to SriLanka even just to stay here, we absolutely loved it.

Wow - really special and unique stay here. Truly on the beach. Loved hearing the sea right next to us while in bed. Shower was also great - really powerful. Staff were also lovely and the hotel’s bar/ restaurant was the perfect place for sunset drinks on the beach.

Great location in a short walk from the beach. All our needs and wishes were fulfilled right away. Since we stayed longer, we were even offered to get a fridge, what was great addition. Breakfast is delicious and is served at nice dining area with great view to lagoon. Grab your binoculars if you are interested in wild nature: several bird species and monkeys were spotted from the dining area. We asked to adjust our breakfast for more “Sri Lankan” and enjoyed hoppers and roti with different fillings. Pool, room and garden were all clean, spacious and well maintained. Calm and quiet in the evenings. We had a room with AC, and it worked perfectly. Property has own entrance to the lagoon with kayaks available for free. Don’t miss your chance for a little adventure. We definitely recommend staying at Hidden garden, if your values match with ours ❤️

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

Tangalle is a hidden gem!

Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. I had dinner at neighbouring South Sea Pearl Beach restaurant, which served amazingly delicious food.

One of our best hotels in hole sri lanka. Starting with the friendly and helpfull staff, the beautiful beach area in front of the hotel. Nobody disturbs you and relaxing with kids is absolutely possible. Also the prices in the reataurant are realy fair. There is not a lot around even if you have a car like us. So we extended our stay over for 3 more nights. One of the good hotels that have the AC not directly in front of the bed.

10/10 We had a whole experience here! And would have stayed longer if we had more time in tangalle. The villa is very fresh and the surrounding is peaceful, walk to the beach through lush greenery. Breakfast was not provided but was not an issue as we could have lovely breakfast at the beach front and lagoon front restaurants near by. One of our best stay in south Sri Lanka
