I really enjoyed my time in Skopje and honestly wish I had stayed longer, but that just gives me a reason to return! The city has a fascinating mix of cultures, sights, and history, all packed into a very walkable and atmospheric capital. I didn’t need to use public transport at all, I walked everywhere easily. I believe there are buses connecting the city and the airport, but within the city itself, everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. I especially loved the area around the bridges and the Old Bazaar, where you can find charming little shops and cozy coffee spots. The city is affordable by European standards and has a lot to offer without feeling overwhelming. For solo travelers, I highly recommend joining a free walking tour with Free Skopje Walking Tours, they were amazing and really helped me connect with the city. As for food, try Eski Burek Shop for a tasty breakfast and Gostilnica Turist (right across from Eski) for a great lunch or dinner. Highly recommended if you're looking for a unique, culturally rich destination that’s easy to explore on foot!

Skoplje is simply amazing :) We expected to see the kitsch capital of this part of the world, but didn't think that it would be to this extent. Also, now I can understand Greeks' feelings about it. The second main point is Čaršija. It is big and attractive. Macedonians are friendly and, all in all, I would recommend stopping by for a day or two to Skopje, on the way to Greece.

Skopje is a beautiful city especially in the centre of it.Full of bridges and statues.Old bazaar is a must visit too.But driving in skopje might be a bit frustrating.I spent only a day in the city centre.Think i could have afforded to spend another day and maybe visit the zoo.The only thing i didnt like is driving in the city and unfortunately there is also a bit of language barrier.Nonetheless it was nice.

A beautiful and accessible city, cheap in prices, with very good food. It is very easy to get to - 25 minutes by car - Matka canyon, which is worth visiting. We do not recommend visiting the fortress ... it is a waste of time for some undeveloped walls!

Skopje is a mix of everything. They decided to "borrow" different things from different places, in a strange way. You can see buses London-style, statues that are a mix of everything Vienna-wannabe, some boats in the river, an old town with low prices in local currency, but higher when translated to Euro, kind of dirty... overall not a touristic spot imho.
