Very friendly and helpfull staff, especially Ashvini and Luvish. They are really proffesionals. The valley around is a hidden gem, the view from the terrace and room is fabulous. Also the dinner exceed our expectation. I think it was the best accommodation I have ever stayed.

There was a lot of space for 3 people and it would be enough for four people too for a few days. It was clean. The staff was nice. The living room and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. It's easy to park a car in front in the street. It is very close to the waterfront, the main street with lots of shop, and 2 grocery stores at walking distance.

I relocated here for a day to stay closer to the airport, having come from Bel Ombre—a remarkably scenic area that is a must-visit for travellers. However, Bel Ombre has very few restaurants, most of which are expensive and widely scattered, making it challenging without private transport. Without a car, our experience was quite difficult—until we finally rented one. In contrast, Mahébourg is far more tourist-friendly, offering numerous dining options and a pleasant seaside setting all within walking distance. Surprisingly, the overall costs were considerably cheaper than Bel Ombre

Mahebourg is a vibrant transport hub. The people are friendly and eager to assist in finding places and any needed information. The market is a must visit. I ate at the market food stalls and at Bo'Valon Mall.

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than...

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South.

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South. We only spent one day there, basically to shorten the trip to the airport the next morning, but we discovered several little gems. My one complaint - it could do with some live sega music. We will definitely spend a few more days there on our next trip.

The city is not beautiful.

The city is not beautiful. It is good for accomodation and making trips from the base. There is no nice bar where to go for a drink during evening. There are some good restaurants and nice market. I would recommend to stay in Blue Bay if you can find affordable accomodation there.

We liked the convenient location – the hotel is close to the airport. The street is very quiet, making it a peaceful place to stay. A large supermarket is within walking distance, which was very convenient. The place was clean and well-organized, with two rooms: a living room and a bedroom. The shower worked fine with no issues. The kitchen was fully equipped, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We stayed for only 1 night but everything was nice! The bed was particularly comfortable, the place was quiet and the location was perfect to go to the airport the next day (it's also very well located if you want to visit Mahébourg). The hotel is lovely and the pool with the sea view seemed great (we were disappointed because we couldn't stay more to enjoy the place!).

We stayed for two nights on arrival to the island. It’s only a 15 min drive from the airport. It’s an amazing location, and the hotel facilities are great. Super room with plenty of space. We highly recommend their onsite diving school. Absolute pros.
