The location was perfect, right in the city center and within walking distance of the central station. Very easy check-in process and making the most out of the digital reception. Fun amenities free at the disposal of the guests such as a Instax camera. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept in. Great communication with the hosts at any time of the day. Overall great attention to detail and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the best value in Oslo.

The breakfast was outstanding: a variety of local specialties as well as more standard continental items, plenty of hot and cold selections. Bedrooms were clean and quiet, though a bit small. Beds were comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The man who checked us in was exceptionally helpful and gave us maps and lots of tips on what to do and see.

FAQs about hotels in Oslo

Into the Wild in Oslo

Spreading for hundreds of kilometres from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.

For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular, are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.

From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

We did not stay long but Oslo felt like a humane city. It might be cold and dark during the winter months, but locals were very warm, helpful and chill. I would certainly visit this charming city again to enjoy the night life a bit more. Maybe during summer ;)

Oslo city was a pleasant surprise, fabulous architecture,...

Oslo city was a pleasant surprise, fabulous architecture, easily walkable, clean, and quiet given that 80% of cars are electric so too are the trams and most of the buses. Traffic was minimal during the week although noticeably more on the Friday. Very easy to navigate via the Ruter# App, and trains to and from the Airport are inexpensive and quick into the city centre. Warning, there are more than one train operator, so make sure you get on the correct train otherwise you will be charged again once on board for having the wrong ticket !! Lesson learned, Food and drink expensive as anticipated, and if not a fan of Norwegian food there are options - actually Italian was pretty good as was the French bistro we visited. However, rather short on salad or vegetable options. Of course everyone speaks english so you should have no trouble finding your way around or navigating menus etc.

Oslo is beautiful even in the cold rain of December.

Oslo is beautiful even in the cold rain of December. Everyone I met was nice and helpful. Getting around was so easy on their public transportation. The Folke Museum was great; Munch museum was ok; unfortunately the Nobel Peace Center was half closed for the Peace Prize event but what I did see was very interesting. Akershus Fensting was fun and walking the roof of the Opera house gave an amazing view-even on a cloudy day. Wish I planned a longer stay- there is so much to see and do and I didn’t get to go to any other parts of Norway. Will have to return soon! My hotel offered meals, but I made a special trip to the Glutenfrihuset for gluten-free cinnamon buns and other GF treats at this gf-dedicated bakery!

City on a fjord and very clean and fresh, particularly when compared to litter strewn UK, and people friendly and mostly spoke good English. Everywhere takes card or contactless, never used cash. Caught in rain a couple of times, so lightweight waterproof or brolly useful. Particularly enjoyed Vigeland Park and statues, Royal Palace & Parliament, Radhus by harbour, Gold Mountain Chinese tucked away in a basement, Ackershus Fortress and views and B1 Ferry round Oslo Harbour Islands. It's Norway so beer and wine expensive, so drank less :-)

Oslo is an amazing city to visit. So many things to do.

Oslo is an amazing city to visit. So many things to do. From museums to parks and shopping malls. Everything was clean and tidy. You can go everywhere using the buss/train/tram very easily with the Ruter app. Very few cars driving around which was absolutely remarkable considering the population. The people were so friendly and willing to help. It was our first trip to Norway but for sure not our last one.

The National Museum was well worth going around - that is where the Scream by Edvard Munch is and some other good exhibits. Vigeland Park was a really beautiful walk with great statues - really easy to get there on metro or tram. Most things to see are completely walkable. Enjoyed the view from the Opera House.

Book the Deluxe Double Room. The location is perfect and very close to everything. The lounge is severely underrated and should be visited by all who stay here. The chef was brought in and is amazing. Small menu, tried everything and it was all 5 star. The rooms can be surprisingly small in this hotel. The Deluxe Double rooms are on the front corner of the hotel and have the most space (see my fire exit picture). It is worth every penny for this space and it has the best view.

The breakfast was epic - it was 5 start so much variety. I am not a breakfast type of person. However, due to the variety - of the breakfast we honestly ended up spending 7am-9am at breakfast. It was a 3 start hotel with a 5 start breakfast. The location was perfect - very central and easy access to the other neighbourhoods. The rooms were spacious and the shower was powerful.

The hotel itself is lovely and grand and lush, however the rooms, or the room we stayed in was abit dated and needed a renovation, just signs of age and needing a refurbish. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, definitely the service of a 5 star hotel. However I would say that the room itself was lacking
