- Room is spacious and looks fancy, with useful chairs and table, a huge TV. - Bed is wide and a set of soft pillows which gave us a nice and comfortable rest after an exhausting trip - Bathroom is clean and complete with bathrobes and towels, tissues with hair blower - Staffs are friendly and helpful, even met Filipinos who are accommodating at our requests and the one who’s in charge in the bar gladly gave us refill for our empty water bottles - Buffet breakfast is great, there is plenty of rice which I didn’t get quite a lot during our travel, had several egg options which are savory and also had tea, coffee, milk, or juice to choose from for a drink. We were full and ready for the day’s adventure!

The atmosphere of the hotel is fashionable and pleasant, and the staff take the initiative to help, and their attitude is super friendly. You need a higher floor to have a slightly better view( But there are still buildings ahead). The price of the restaurant downstairs is slightly higher, but the taste is layered. The hotel accepts requests for late check-out depending on the situation, which is very useful for travelers with late-night flights departing.

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the 'City of Sails' due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbour, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly offers a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city centre is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect accommodation for your holiday.

I like Auckland and I was there for a purpose which I fulfilled and returned the next day. It had everything I needed but the biggest thing I liked was that it has Denny's open 24 hours. I was starving I wasn't able to eat until 10.30pm and I don't eat McDonalds or KFC and I wanted a meal and a glass of wine and was able to get that from Denny's. I couldn't believe how packed it was at that time of night. The food was ok- my medium steak was medium rare, the wine they brought me was warm... lol... but I put ice in it and it was fine - just what I needed.

I appreciated the sky shuttle from airport to the Skycity...

I appreciated the sky shuttle from airport to the Skycity hotel and tour buses from this hotel. The shuttle driver didn’t ask me if I'm a senior and at 74 yrs of age I paid full price. The discount was given to another lady of age 60 that had asked and when I told the driver my age and why I didn’t get the discount, she said ‘oh well, I don’t know how to change it’!!! This was disappointing and upsetting for me!!!

We love visiting Auckland for a variety of reasons. Waterfront, a huge variety of restaurants with world class food, excellent shopping. Favourite suburbs Parnell, St Heliers and the bays ,downtown shopping. We often travel by car however train and bus facilities are also good.

Traffic congestion makes driving into and around Auckland...

Traffic congestion makes driving into and around Auckland difficult and stressful. Plan for at least 45 minutes extra on top of your Google estimated drive times to travel up the southern motorway during moderate to heavy traffic conditions. Auckland CBD is a place to avoid if at all possible.

A very vibrant city, with beautiful dockside view, mountains to explore or hike and bays all around. Amazing city lights at night especially around the Britomart and CBD area. The food scene is something worth exploring for - from cafes, fancy to the neighbourhood restos

This has become my favourite accommodation after being left stranded at Auckland airport with nowhere to go, all the nearby hotels fully booked hanging up on us, and in this one, we rang and we were met by the loveliest lady, even when the phone was ringing off the hook, she remained calm, kind and so efficient! She made a horrible night become a pleasant stay, with cozy beds and an impeccable room. 10/10!!!

Good room with all the amenities we expected. The hotel is located very close to Auckland Domain, a big park with a very nice museum. Auckland city centre is a 30 min walk away, which for us was perfect as we like to do things on foot. Also, it was nice that the hotel is located in a quiet area, away from all the noise and chaos of the big city. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much.

This was a last minute booking as we decided to collect a car from the airport and we needed a hotel with parking. We arrived late and left early but our room was comfortable with views over the park and it was only a 5 minute drive from downtown Auckland. The staff were friendly and it was quiet

The Hotel was in a great location handy to the viaduct and Auckland central. It was a little tired and could do with a refresh. The staff were helpful and friendly. If you are after a place to stay in Auckland that is comfortable and close to the city Centre, then this is a good option.
