We liked everything Matakauri had to offer. The staff were more like friends and treated us like family. Sitting in the lounge in front of the fireplace enjoying the view of the mountains was absolutely stunning. AND the food was fabulous!!

This comfortable guesthouse was perfectly positioned in Queenstown yet still quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was lovely and quite generous, the never-ending lolly bar was very welcome as was the free mini bar but the highlight was afternoon drinks - such a lovely opportunity to meet fellow guests over a wine or beer and delicious snacks. Nice modern hotel, spacious room and bathroom, great gym open 24h, good wifi. Beautiful big open lobby / restaurant / bar with outdoor space and view of the mountains. Lobby has plenty of sockets.
