I stayed at the hotel for Christmas, but advise to book in advance during the high season. There are a lot of parking spaces, a cafe and a bar on site, that helped a lot during the public holidays when everything was closed. I had a large new renovation room with a mansard roof and a beautiful view. A lake 5 minutes away, as well as hiking area, 1 hour drive to Queenstown along the lake. Glenorchy is a very beautiful and peaceful place, not overcrowded as Queenstown.

The staff were lovely and the food was sensational and excellent value. Breakfasts and dinners were the highlight of our day and the home made granola was the best ever. We paid twice as much for dinner at our next stop and it was not even half the quality.

Amazing location serene and very quiet. We were in one of the moonlight domes. There was no one in the second when we booked so it felt secluded. Would probably have have felt different if another couple had been in the second as the domes are close together. The domes are spacious and nicely appointed with lovely touches like sweets / chocolates / slippers and hot water bottles. The bathroom is in a separate trailer (shared with the other dome) which also has a kitchen on one end. Bathroom is large and has a nice shower. You do need to be able to walk to the dome and drive up to the parking area. No phone reception so if you get lost just keep heading up towards the domes there are signs.
