I loved everything about Waianakarua.
I loved everything about Waianakarua. The scenery, energy, the big spacious outdoor space was beyond me. The room I stayed in was dry, warm & safe. The owners were lovely and accomodating checking up daily on us. It’s a great stay of a spot for individual travel, couple travelling & also for families. The main kitchen & lounge area was gorgeous & comfortable & I will be back definitely.

We really liked the proximity to the river (a one minute walk), the friendliness & helpfulness of the owners. The accomodation did not match which was pictured on the website, which was mildly disappointing. Our accompanying bathroom was updated & clean. The bedroom, unfortunately because of its proximity to the kitchen smelled of cooking odours.

Loved the pretty grounds.
Loved the pretty grounds. Lodge rooms and beds were clean and tidy and comfortable. Everything was well maintained and clean. The hostess Janene was welcoming and helpful. We plan to come back with other family members, as unfortunately we were in transit and only stopped in as an overnight break in our journey. Have driven past here for years, without realising what a great wee spot it is.

The owners were very obliging and helpful ,with any questions I had,the spa pool was a bonus and very welcoming after having long walks.
Nothing was a bother to them ,the setting of the campsite was so peaceful and a good family campsite ,with plenty of things for children to have a go on.I will return.I had food with me but one could travel a short distance to a takeaway shop.it is easy to travel around nearby forest areas at Herbert
