Staying here was the biggest gift I could give to myself. Cynthia and Ben are extremely helpful and know just the right people in Iquitos. The cabin has everything you could ask for and the bed is very comfortable. Their dog welcomes you and I was lucky enough to see Ben feed the monkeys. A little paradise in the jungle with amazing internet! Would highly recommend staying here

I’ve stayed one week in the wonderful Guacamayo Azul integrating my journeys in the jungle, and seriously, I have no words how amazing this place is! The house is luxurious, huge comfortable main bedroom, fully equipped kitchen where I felt I could cook as if I was back home. The pool is another sort of privilege; calm and safe location, comparing to the rest of Iquitos. Julio, the housekeeper, would help me with absolutely everything I needed - driving me to do buy groceries, help around the house, even accompanying me to explore the local area’s gems so I don’t feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. A special thanks to him! The house is massive and would fit a company up to 8 people, but also it’s an incredible stay for a solo person, who seeks quietness and solitude, like in my case. I truly appreciate my time in Guacamayo Azul, and it only leaves me to wonder why it’s not yet fully booked. I wish you that!

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and well taken care of. I was able to call the host when the taxi driver couldn’t find the house. Pablo the owner is an authentic ambassador of the Kukama Culture. He is very engange socially to support and educate the people in his community. He is a very inspiring person. The Casa Kukama Lodge is a project to support the community. Before Covid he has there a school to teach children the Kukama language.

A lovely convenient little hotel outside the airport with a nearby shopping centre so no need to go into town for transit visits into the jungle. I was blown away by Wilson’s kindness and help - as a tour operator himself he knows all the important things to tell those of us who are off into the wilds or around Peru and is very generous with his time and advice. He and his wife are invaluably helpful. 10 out of 10.
