Great location, far out, but in 20 minutes at the coast and the next town Extremely quiet and perfect for a few relaxing days. Xana and Miguel have been such wonderful hosts, always available if you have any needs, but still 100% privacy. We would love to come back in the near future

The place was amazing. The host was very lovely and paid attention to details to make you feel home. The location was remote making the sound of silence so pleasant. The sunset from the pool was great. We only wished we booked a second night !

Everything was perfect. Rooms are very comfortable and quite with facilities needed. The farm vibe was a plus with lots of animals and friendly dogs and cats that we play with! Staff was also very effective and efficient!

A remote location, great for walks and fairly close to a couple of small towns by car.... which is needed. The sound of birds during the day was lovely. The view over the hills, the sound of farm animals... such a great place to unwind.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm. We ate at restaurants BH and O Contrabandista which were both exceptional. You can take a small boat 5 minutes across the river to Spain to another small town. There is a cool zip wire for 20 euros which crosses the border back to Portugal. There is lots of 14th century history in both towns. Legend says it’s a place where contraband was smuggled during battles. The overall peacefulness of the place is very relaxing and pleasant.

The hotel was very clean, the room pleasant but small, very quiet and peaceful excellent for chilling out. Not a lot to see, restricted in restaurants, trip to Spain via the small ferry interesting, but again very little to see. Surrounding area worth a visit

The hotel is set in a quiet location and has great views...

The hotel is set in a quiet location and has great views across the river (Spain is on the other side). The town of Alcoutim has good restaurants within walking distance ( 10 to 15 minutes). The hotel seems to attract Portuguese families with young children so the pool was always busy and noisy. The town has a small ferry boat to take you to the other side or take you on trips up and down the river (30 minutes or 1 hour for 7.50 euros or 15 euros respectively). There is also a river beach nearby but we did not use it. There are canoes, kayaks and jet-skis to hire very close to the hotel. The hotel room does not provide tea/coffee-making facilities. When we asked for a kettle they said they only had one which they needed for breakfast.

Alcoutim is a place good for rest and have some activities. Near to Algarve beaches and near to Spain is a nice place to stay, but Managers should pay more atention and be able to do more to increase the profits.

A nice little village in the inner part of Algarve, close to...

A nice little village in the inner part of Algarve, close to the Spanish border. There isn't much to do there, but if you are looking for a place to get some rest away from everything, you will find it in Alcoutim. It gets HOT on Summer days, locals said it also gets COLD in Winter. There are some monuments worth a visit, there are a handful of restaurants, there are some river activities. There is only a very small groceries shop, there are no supermarkets.

The hotel is in a lovely quiet area right next to the Guadiana River looking over to Spain. The room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool area, with a small seating are outside. It was a good size, fresh, clean and bright. The bathroom was shower over bath but did provide a non-slip mat. It was extremely quiet, though this may have been because of few other guests and the pool area too chilly to use so this might be different in high season.

Hotel was bright, clean and well-located. Breakfast offered very good variety with everything fresh and regularly stocked up. The gentleman at reception was welcoming, efficient and very gracious. Parking was easy and offered shade from sunshine. There are lots of walks very close to hotel. Both accommodation and breakfast were excellent value for the services provided.

I hiked the Via Algarviana, they where at the same time 2 other hikers and even I booked a bed in the room, I got whole room for me, everyone does. So, it was amazing from hotel, when ist possible to do upgrade, they are do it. Really nice breakfast.

This hotel has a special quality in that its charm is in its simplicity. It is in a beautiful location on the banks of the river and a stones throw from Alcoutim village which is a very quaint little place. The staff are helpful and friendly.
