The location was perfect, close to all amenities and felt really safe. The host was magnificent in offering quality information about the area and possible excursions. The view from the cabins are breathtaking looking on the ocean, villages and cliffs. There are good local and more touristy restaurants in the area. Parking on location was easy. There is a really nice pool, a basketball/tennis court. BBQ are available with some wood and a nice common area with cooking facilities. The place definitely has some magic to it, I will return ✨ Thank you for having me ! 😌

If you're looking for somewhere quiet, then Várzea is the place for you! It was so peaceful. I stayed in the garden suite which was so luxurious and comfortable - I really loved it. I wish I had booked more than 1 night.

Villa Anna Splendid Sunset Ocean Front is a true paradise on earth. From the very first glance off the terrace, we were left breathless – the ocean stretches endlessly before you, and every evening it transforms into a living canvas of the most magnificent sunsets one could ever imagine. Mornings began with gentle yoga on the terrace, with nothing but the sound of waves and the feeling of a new day being born with fresh energy. A swim in the saltwater pool felt like bathing in the sea itself, yet in complete privacy and comfort. Each day we looked forward to Anna’s breakfast – not just a meal, but an experience prepared with love, setting the tone for the entire day. Alex became our invaluable guide – his tips and advice led us to places and moments we would never have discovered on our own. And then came the evenings… moments when we sank into a lounge chair and simply gazed at the stars as they lit up over the ocean. It was a time of pure peace, harmony, and connection with this magical place. Villa Anna is not just accommodation – it is an experience that etches itself deep into your heart. And it is one of the very few places where we can honestly say: we will most certainly return.

Our stay was truly wonderful. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the attention to detail in every corner is evident. The hot tub is a great way to unwind the day, breakfast was delicious. Would love to return one day, highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Country Suite of beautiful Villa Várzea for 6 nights, and I cannot recommend it enough. The Villa is comprised of two hundred-year-old buildings with a great history, as they were once owned by one of the first doctors on the island. I loved how the design of the spacious interiors still reflects such history, yet without compromising on modern needs. Together with the very quiet and peaceful location of the small village of Várzea, this combination allows for a very relaxing experience that is hard to find elsewhere. All this I could have mostly guessed by reading the description of the house online. What I could not have guessed is that the house is run by lovely locals, some of whom I had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with, such as the sweetest receptionist Catarina, Rita, Filomena and the owner Monique, who happens to be the great-granddaughter of the aforementioned physician. In the room, there is also a booklet full of suggested locations to visit, with some interesting descriptions of the history of Villa Várzea and its village. On my last day, I also tried the optional breakfast, which was delicious and included local food.

There wasn’t anything close to us, we shopped in Ponta Delgada for groceries. The street parking is a bit challenging because the roads are steep and narrow. It is not easy to get around most places on the island.
