We stayed there with a family of four. The hotel staff is very friendly, they allowed us to check-in before the official check-in time. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a great ocean view. Beds are comfortable. The facilities are great, our favorite one was outdoor pool with heated sea water. Breakfast is excellent with a big variety of freshly cooked meals, warm and cold food. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

We had such a lovely time at this apartment. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was safe, peaceful neighborhood just a short drive from the airport and Funchal. What made our stay so special were the amazing hosts, Goretti and Mauricio. They were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. If you can, have dinner prepared by them and experience the authentic local dishes, beautifully prepared, and unlike anything we found in restaurants around Madeira. Our 21-month-old daughter had the best time running around the garden (still being finished), watching the chickens, and trying out some strawberries from the garden. It made the whole trip feel even more relaxed and homely. A wonderful place with wonderful people, we will happily stay here again. Thank you Goretti and Mauricio!

We were only staying in Caniço, we went there to visit Madeira and really enjoyed it. It's green and beautiful, people are very nice and food is excellent. I would definitely recommend renting a car with a powerful engine as the island has lots of steep roads.

All of Madeira island is mountainous therefore it would be advisable to rent a car on the island to get around. There was a very good bakery and cafe in the village and a small grocery for essentials. The Pingo Doce & Contintente are a short drive up the mountain for anything else you would need.

Canico location is very good.

Canico location is very good. Just the right distance from airport and main town of Funchal. Hotel locations are very nice along seaside, and accessible to main road going to other shops with various restaurants.

Canico is Funchal's quiet neighbour.

Canico is Funchal's quiet neighbour. It is on the main bus route into Funchal (the 155) from where you can find busses to most places on the island. There is a nice area by the water with cafes, restaurants and places to sit in the sunshine.

Vanico doesn't really have much to offer.....too far to walk to the sea. Generally very built up. Didn't find anywhere to eat to compare with the hotel. Good bus to Funchal which follows the old coast road with impressive views as you get close to Funchal

Small town so little nightlife.

Small town so little nightlife. Good bus links into Funchal and down to Canico de Baixo. Good restaurants, especially La Terresa. Two supermarkets and many cafes. Prices lower than in Funchal. Quinta Splendida gardens open to non residents for 4 euros. Lovely place to sit and relax. Not a tourist hotspot so locals go about their daily life. Nice to see the real culture.

Thank you Bruno for being attentive and taking care of our needs. We appreciated your accessibility and willingness to attend to our request. We enjoyed our time in the apartment. The parking space was challenging to maneuver into and out of but at least a safe place to leave our car. The apartment had a patio with a lovely view but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to use it very often. Next time I think we will need to come a little later in the season. Over all a lovely stay in Madeira!

Every element of the hotel was top class, the variety of food in the restaurant, which changed daily, meant we were never disappointed. All the staff were super helpful, attentive and friendly. There was a shuttle bus n and out of Funchal, and we never failed to get the time we wanted, however as it was April, I’m not sure that would be the case in the height of summer. There is so much to see and do in Madeira, very impressed on our first visit to this Island, it won’t be our last!

I couldn’t ask for more. The apartment is perfect for your holiday in Madeira. It has everything you need, close to the bus stop. Private parking if you rent a car. Very good size. The view is beautiful. Definitely recommend and if I’m coming back to Madeira I will stay here again for sure. I want to thank you the landlord for helping me renting a car, that was definitely a very good idea. Who says you don’t need a car to explore the island is wrong.

Localization is excellent, great ocean view from bedroom and terrace, few small shops nearby (200-300 meters) so no problem to buy something in emergency if needed. Few restaurants around. Easy access to fast route (kind of highway) to airport/Funchal and other interesting places on Madeira. The house itself has all needed equipment, like washer, dishwasher, microwave etc. And ther is a cute kitty comming every morning for a snack and gets;)

It must be said that at this price you will not find anything better in Madeira. The apartment is large, fragrant and super clean. Equipped with everything you need even for a super long stay. The host of the apartment is helpful and very nice. I am impressed!
