Entering this ancient xisto town with its steeps hills and adorable cobble stoned streets was incredible. Cars are parked at the entrance of the village, and we proceeded on foot for the next 100 meters to get to the room. It felt like traveling 100 years back into time, it was fantastic. The elevation of the location is pretty high, which means the views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. All you will hear here are birds chirping and the rustle of leaves. The staff is very welcoming and everyone made sure our room was tidy, and that we had everything we needed. The breakfast options are numerous and the quality was very good. Having access to a pool was refreshing in the midday heat. We really enjoyed our stay and we hope to visit again soon! We heard about this place through (instagram) @vivacoimbra

Octant hotel is a beauty! On one side the newer building with rooms, and on the other side the older part, a former palace. The interior is a true gem, especially the 4 salons. The view on the nearby mountains is so peaceful and relaxing. Staff were amazing to us. They were fantastic, each and every one of them.

We really Loved it. Perfect for a night or 2 if you are passing nearby. The service we got from the receptionist and the dinner chef was more than expected, especially the out-of-menu dishes they made for our kids. Really appreciate the effort done for us. Room is exactly needed size with comfortable beds and balcony with a view. Outdoor and indoor pools and , lovely spa. Thank you for a wonderful short stay. wish we could have stayed another night

The village is pretty but barren, like several others in the area. Besides local accommodations, there are no services offered; there are no cafes or restaurants, apparently, and only one restaurant open on weekends and a lady who sells her liqueurs.

A wonderful schist village.

A wonderful schist village. It lacks a restaurant open every day, at least during peak season. Compared to other schist villages, walking around here is relatively easy (the terrain isn't very uneven).

Perhaps one of the most beautiful schist villages.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful schist villages. Very pretty. Hiking trails are possible. There's a chance to spot wildlife (in my case, two deer and a wild boar). Ideal for those who love peace and quiet and don't want to use their cell phones.

Staying in an Aldeia do Xisto was a true privilege. The houses are beautifully appointed, offering unparalleled comfort; we spent Christmas cozy and warm by the fire – it was perfect. The restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast featuring local products.

We traveled as a family and were all extremely pleased with our stay. We all wanted to stay longer because we were so happy. Everything was impeccable, from the friendliness of the staff and the excellence of the facilities to the cleanliness of the entire accommodation. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful schist village, but unfortunately it has a ruined...

Beautiful schist village, but unfortunately it has a ruined building that gives the village a heavy atmosphere. The parking available at the entrance to the village may be insufficient for the number of people the place receives. I don't recommend driving into the village. The route to the village is easy to follow using GPS. For food, I recommend going to Lousã.
