We loved this city.
We loved this city. It’s not tourist-packed town and it’s a perfect size, with lovely parks and nice shops and restaurants. People better are kind. That will help you with any language barriers if you’re patient. We enjoyed a nice ramen dinner nearby. Prices are reasonable in the city. Leiria doesn't have much to offer, it is a cute city but without much to do. The castle is quaint, but there are more impressive castles in Portugal. The center looks a little empty and abandoned, however for being a smaller city you can find good food for a reasonable price. Leiria is a very beautiful relaxing town easy to get from Lisbon by bus. Nice restaurants and an interesting castle with more than just half broken down walls. Leiria was a surprise.
Leiria was a surprise. This small town had a lot going on: cultural events, a castle, good restaurants. It was very international and felt like a hidden gem. I walked around everywhere, and the food was consistently good wherever I went. The rooms are large with fabulous spa baths and nice views. we have stayed in four different rooms (over two visits, the first we booked night by night as we were unsure if we would need to change location) and all the rooms have been great.
