Where to start...? This is an amazing place to stay for whoever wants to enjoy the peace of the countryside, Casa Barriada II is located in a small village surrounded by nature with easy access to the city of Bragança and close to other villages. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the decoration was amazing in a blend of rustic furniture meets modern appliances that worked really well! Everything looked brand new and very clean and it really made our stay one of the most fantastic stay I've ever had! We even had some cats making us company when outside! I'm definitely coming back whenever I have the chance! The host Alice kept communicating with me until we settled in making sure we had everything we needed. We received the code for the lock box prior to our arrival and everything went smoothly. Top notch house and if you want to explore the lovely Tras-Os-Montes and the Natural Park of Montesinho, I definitely recommend house of Barriada!

Writing a review for this place makes one soon run out of superlatives. Everything nice people say in the reviews is an understatement. First of all, Alice is super attentive, helpful, and responsive. The home is spotless, better equipped than my own home, nicely decorated, with vitrage lamp shades and historical items adorning the walls. The first place in Portugal where they had a Moka cafetera, the first good coffee in a month! The washing machine, the additional heating in bathroom. The location is beautiful, a small eerie village, where you meet more cats than neighbours. On the fringe of Montesinho national park, it is a great starting point to explore the little villages as well as the landscapes.

We were only able to stay for one night but wish we'd stayed longer as there is so much to enjoy. It's a big space with two floors and a nice outdoor area. All spaces are equipped with everything you need and the decorations are very thoughtful. All the seating areas are comfy and pleasant. The beds are lovely and there is plenty of hot water in the shower and bath. We had our dinner and breakfast on the balcony and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We will definitely stay again if in the area again. It's a good spot for exploring the national park and only a 25min drive from Braganca.

The staff. I landed at the local airport during the major power outage that took down Spain and Portugal There was no phone connection, no restaurants and no cash machines were working When I arrived at the hotel though I found cheerful staff doing their very best to make people comfortable. I was made a sandwich, given a beer and a torch and they apologised about the lack of hot water! It’s a simple local hotel but with a great heart

Perfect tranquilty.

Perfect tranquilty. Quiet village in National park outside of Braganca (20 minute drive). Very comfortable house with all facilities in Kitchen as per advertised. Excellent host. Luis is a gentleman and took great care to ensure the stay was great. Gave full privacy but responded immediately to requests! Even had flat tire on my hire car fixed for me, with no charge. Great fireplace. Wood delivered to door each day. Booked for two nights and stayed for four. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highly reccomend!
